Building a wind farm means getting equipment running and site infrastructure operating, often before permanent electrical connections are available. As construction progresses, that power needs to move with the work.

Genelite recently supplied three trailer-mounted, Cummins-powered generators through our reseller network for a major wind farm project: two GCM40S units delivering 40 kVA of prime power each, and one GCM60S delivering 60 kVA.

Their job? Powering temporary construction and maintenance equipment, along with remote site infrastructure where the grid cannot reach or turbine internal systems are not yet fully operational.

Each generator is fitted with custom outlets and mounted on a Stonegate Industries 8 × 5 ft galvanised flatbed trailer with mechanical brakes.

The trailer configuration allows the generators to follow the work between locations, without needing a forklift for routine relocation. Three separate units also give the operator flexibility to allocate power across different work areas as requirements change.

Pre-delivery and testing has just been completed on this unit, ready for transport to Maleny.

The Isuzu GS020PTY diesel generator has been prepared for a standby power application in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, paired with a GATSI40100 automatic transfer switch panel.

Once installed, the ATS will monitor mains supply, automatically starting the generator during an outage and transferring the connected loads to backup power. When mains power returns, it transfers the load back.

With a robust 20 kVA output, sound-suppressed enclosure and 78-litre fuel tank, the Isuzu provides a compact backup power solution backed by Genelite’s local testing and technical support.

This HBD220S has been prepared for a construction firm requiring a reliable source of temporary power before permanent utility connections are installed.

As a Genuine Product of Hyundai Corporation, the HBD220S offers 220kVA of standby power. It features a Deep Sea controller, automatic-start capability, shutdown protection, a 50°C-rated radiator and a 940-litre base fuel tank providing approximately 22 hours of operation at 75% load.

The complete package is housed in a heavy-duty, weather-resistant silenced canopy suited to demanding Australian operating conditions.

Two more mine-spec generators have been prepared and are heading north to support a local equipment hire fleet in Darwin.

The dispatch included a 60kVA Cummins-powered GCM60S and a 23kVA Kubota-powered GK23S, giving the hire company two different capacities for civil, construction, mining and remote project applications.

Both generators were prepared in mine-spec configurations and fitted with upgraded, custom outlets for greater flexibility across specific equipment and site requirements.

The GCM60S delivers 60kVA prime power, with a Cummins 4BTA3.9-G2 engine, Mecc Alte alternator and approximately 29 hours runtime at 75% load.

The more compact GK23S delivers 23kVA of prime power, combining a Kubota V2403-BG engine with a Leroy Somer alternator and approximately 34 hours runtime at 75% load.

Before dispatch, both units were pre-delivered, load tested and function tested at Genelite’s Brisbane office.
