A solar farm is more than thousands of panels generating clean energy. Behind the scenes, a reliable high-voltage network is essential for safely connecting that power to the grid.

For the 100 MWp Bundaberg Solar Farm in Queensland, with 168,399 solar modules, accurate current measurement was a key consideration as the project progressed towards commissioning.

To support the site’s high-voltage grid connection, Insulect supplied 132 kV current transformers (CTs) for protection, control and metering within the electrical network.

☀️ Clean energy doesn't begin with solar panels. It begins with reliable infrastructure.

The Munna Creek Solar Farm in Queensland is designed to generate 120 MWAC of renewable energy, producing around 300,000 MWh annually, enough to power approximately 41,100 Australian homes. But delivering clean energy at this scale requires more than sunlight.

By supplying a tailored high-voltage solution, including 145 kV and 72.5 kV disconnectors and a 72.5 kV dead tank circuit breaker with point-on-wave control, helped provide the foundation for safe, efficient, and dependable operation.

⚡ Great to connect at EEA2026!
Insulect and our partner Hiko Power Engineering Limited attended the EEA2026 Conference, held from September 22–24 at the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) in Auckland.
