The Three Amigos!

Today we celebrated Graham and Akuila hitting a huge milestone, 10 years of service at Munster.

These two have been with us through thick and thin, working side-by-side with Eric back in the early days, and helping shape the team we are today. From shutdowns and late-night callouts to early-morning laughs and “creative” solutions in the field, they've done it all (and lived to tell the tales).

We held a party at the office today to mark the occasion with plenty of laughs, a few stories that may or may not have been exaggerated, and a reminder of how important good people are to a great team.

Here’s to Graham and Akuila, key parts of the Munster story. Thanks for the first 10 and we’re not letting you retire just yet.

Proud Of Our Finalist!

We're thrilled to announce that Munster's own Travis Wellington was a finalist in the “Harry Hauenschild Apprentice of the Year” category at the recent Department of Employment, Small Business and Training awards on the Gold Coast.

The Harry Hauenschild Award honors an apprentice who excels in all aspects of their training, a description that perfectly fits Travis's dedication and performance at Munster's workshop. Chloe Halliwell, (Certificate III in Painting and Decorating) was the eventual winner and now goes on to represent the state in the national awards, and we want to wish her the best of luck.

A Logan resident, Travis first connected with Munster during a school tour as a student at Mabel Park State High School. Since joining Munster in September 2019, he has grown immensely, often stepping up as a leader and mentor to newer staff at our refurbishment workshop.

Recently, Travis contributed to an inspiring youth pathways campaign with Logan City Council, Logan Office of Economic Development and Mabel Park, aimed at encouraging the next generation. With more young people opting out of further training post-high school and anticipated skills shortages in various sectors like health, education, and trades, this campaign highlighted relatable community stories to motivate Logan's youth to pursue further education. Having seen the first draft we are certain it will do just that!

Sparks Galore!

Munster were awarded Company Of The Year In Fabrication at the 2023 Queensland and Northern Territory Welding Excellence Awards held by Weld Australia in Brisbane last night.

Weld Australia’s Excellence Awards are the most prestigious event on the welding industry calendar. The Awards showcase and celebrate the world-class work being undertaken by local welders, fabricators and industry educators.

To have been shortlisted among our Peers was already such an exciting moment for the team but to take home Company Of The Year has left us beaming with pride. From the humblest of beginnings supporting our mechanical install teams to now fabricating items such as one of a kind bespoke gantry crane, large bore stainless steel & mild steel pipework and niche fabrication projects at our 4000sqm fabrication facility, our fabrication journey has been nothing short of amazing.

This award is fantastic recognition of the quality workmanship our Team put in on a daily basis. Through their commitment and hard work it has allowed us bring manufacturing of offshore equipment back to Queensland, something we are very proud of.

Well done to everyone who has played a part in our welding and fabrication journey. Thank you!
