ALI Civil Pty Ltd is incredibly proud to have been part of the design and construction of the upgraded Huskisson Mangrove Boardwalk on Currambene Creek, Jervis Bay.

In collaboration with MI Engineers, our team worked tirelessly to create a safer, wider, and more inclusive boardwalk for the community to enjoy. This project was carefully designed and executed to minimise environmental impact on the ecologically important mangrove forest, ensuring the preservation of this stunning natural habitat.

Working on Country is always a privilege, and we’re proud to have delivered sustainable infrastructure that enhances accessibility while respecting the unique environment of Jervis Bay.

Today at work, we had a meaningful NAIDOC celebration that left a lasting impact on all of us. We started by listening to the powerful poem "Yúya Karrabúra (Fire is Burning)" by the incredible Indigenous poet Alice Eather. Her words painted a complex picture of two colliding worlds, and in the middle, Alice brought these worlds together, inviting us “to sit beside this fire, and listen.”

🔥 Following this, we had the privilege of hearing cultural perspectives from Leon Brown and Matt Sadler. They spoke passionately about this year's theme, "Keep the Fires Burning," and shared what it means to be Blak, Loud & Proud. Their insights into what this theme signifies for them, their families, and their community were truly inspiring.

Let's continue to honor and celebrate the rich culture and heritage of Indigenous peoples every day, not just during NAIDOC Week. ✨

We can FINALLY announce that the Blak Cede Gunyah café will be open to the Community on…

🙌🏾 FRIDAY 19th APRIL 🙌🏾

Blak Cede Gunyah will be open 6 days a week from 7:30 - 3:00 (closed Sundays).

☝🏾Note: the kitchen closes at 2:30.

There has been so much anticipation leading up to this moment! The café has been YEARS in the making, and we are incredibly grateful to every person who has got Blak Cede to this point ❤️💛🖤

Over the next week, our staff will be continuing their training by hosting a series of soft launch events. Please note, these are private events and not open to the public. These small, invite-only events are a great way for our staff to gain experience working together and in the new space before we open to the public on Friday ☕️

We are overjoyed to announce the completion of the Mangrove Boardwalk replacement project in Huskisson! This is not just a project completion; it's a celebration of community, nature, and perseverance.

The new boardwalk is now a reality, beautifully integrated into the heart of Huskisson's mangrove ecosystem. Its completion marks a significant achievement in our collective effort to preserve and showcase the natural beauty of our area.

Three cheers for the team who completed the Mangrove Boardwalk replacement! This is just the first stage in a series of improvements - the full loop track around the Pond will be open in March.
