As the year starts to wind down, everything else seems to speed up. Deadlines stack up, calendars fill quickly and the focus shifts firmly to getting things done.

We wrapped up the year with our final monthly round up on a warm summer morning by the Yarra. There were egg and bacon rolls, sausages, croissants and coffee, which immediately improved attendance and engagement. More importantly, it gave us a chance to pause, look back on the year and talk through what we delivered, where things became more complex and how momentum was maintained along the way.

It was a reminder that progress rarely comes from big moments alone. It’s built through small decisions, steady discipline and consistency, even in a year that demanded plenty of focus.

A good way to close things out, clear the head and move into the break with a shared view of where we’ve been and what matters next.

Halloween looked a little different for us this year🔒👻

Instead of costumes and candy, we found ourselves locked inside the cells of Prison Island — racing the clock, solving puzzles and testing our teamwork across tactical, physical and mental challenges, complete with monsters wandering the halls to remind us it was still Halloween after all.

With no instructions to guide us, each room demanded quick thinking, communication and a fair bit of laughter. We learned fast that the only way out was by listening, trusting each other and drawing on everyone’s strengths.

The competition was fierce, but in the end it was Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun who took the crown (and bragging rights).

We finished with food, drinks and a lot of laughs. It was a relief to leave the monsters behind and get back to the far safer chaos of our inboxes. Turns out a few jump scares are a pretty good way to bring a team together.

What a week at !

The conversations, the ideas, the full rooms. It was great to see so much energy around the future of our city.

Our directors, Chong Tan and Nick Grear, led two standout session: “Building the City of Tomorrow”and “Addressing the Housing Crisis”. Both sessions sparked real discussion about how Melbourne grows, plans and delivers in a way that works for everyone.

A few Pomeroy team members were there too, catching up with familiar faces, discovering new ideas and offering plenty of support (and a little light-hearted heckling for our Pomeroy moderators) from the floor.

Events like Melbourne Build remind us why we love what we do. It is about people coming together, sharing insight and keeping the focus on building better outcomes for our city.

It’s been a big few weeks at Pomeroy Pacific, and we couldn’t be prouder of what’s taking shape.

In Melbourne’s west, the ground turned and the shovels got dirty as we kicked off two new KOSS (Kindergarten on a School Site) projects at Ardeer South and Glengala. For us, it’s not just about starting construction. It’s about laying the first stones in places where kids will learn, laugh and grow together.

In Alphington, the hard hats were on at Artisan West, where creativity meets construction. Here, design and community are coming together to build something special that will stand the test of time.

From shovels in the west to hard hats in Alphington, these projects might look different, but they share the same purpose: creating places that people can truly belong to.

Last Friday was all about food, fun, and a little learning at Pomeroy Pacific.

Big thanks to our resident grill-masters Kush & Yanik, who served up a BBQ feast with burgers stacked high with all the trimmings (yes, even beetroot & pineapple for the true Aussie touch 🍍). The salads were also actually good enough to eat, not just decoration on the side.

And because we don’t just feed the body, Dino took us through Property Investment 101 in our monthly Lunch & Learn.

As for the official (and completely unbiased) ratings:

🍔 Burgers: 10/10 (beetroot controversy aside)
🥗 Sides: 9/10
👨‍🏫 Wisdom from Dino: priceless
