🔩 CAN'T SOURCE THE FITTING? WE'LL FIND A WAY TO MAKE IT. 🇦🇺

Another custom fabrication project completed for Fox Global, this time supporting a major tunnelling application in Melbourne.

The requirement?

Heavy-duty 5-inch steel hose tails with fabricated, weld-on shouldered ends.

Sounds straightforward, right?

Not when the required configuration isn't readily available in Australia and the project can't afford unnecessary procurement delays.

🏗️ THE CHALLENGE

Our customer required specialised industrial hose fittings to suit its existing connection arrangements.

Unfortunately, the required 5-inch shouldered configuration wasn't available locally within the project's timeframe.

Waiting on the conventional supply process wasn't an attractive option.

Another custom hose project heading north from Fox Global! 🇦🇺

This batch of 2-inch (50mm) and 3-inch (80mm) stainless steel braided hose assemblies, manufactured in 6-metre lengths with custom 90-degree Camlock connections, is destined for a chemical loading facility in Brisbane.

But there's more to this project than simply supplying stainless steel hoses.

🔄 WHY THE CHANGE?

The facility was previously operating with Code 969 composite chemical hoses.

Following changes to its processing methodology, including increased operating temperatures and additional chemical compatibility considerations, the customer decided to upgrade to stainless steel braided assemblies.

The objective? Reduce potential hose failure risks under the revised operating conditions.

⚙️ GENFLEX STAINLESS STEEL HOSE CONSTRUCTION

✅ Hydroformed SS316 annular corrugated tube
✅ SS304 stainless steel braid as standard
✅ Single and double braid configurations
✅ Published temperature range: -270°C to +750°C
✅ Engineered for suitable chemical, steam and industrial applications
✅ Custom lengths, fittings and connection configurations

Actual pressure, temperature and chemical suitability depend on the complete assembly.

These weren't standard off-the-shelf assemblies.

The customised connections were designed to suit the facility's transfer arrangement and hose routing requirements.
