From the bigger changes through to the finer details, our qualified team is hands-on throughout the build. Having our own experienced team means our clients see familiar faces onsite as their project progresses.

With more than 20 years of building experience behind us, we take a hands on and considered approach to every project, working closely with our clients from the early stages through to handover.

We’re incredibly proud to have taken home the award for Best Rural Project at the 2026 Master Builders Sunshine Coast Housing & Construction Awards.

This project was a special one for our team a major renovation and extension that brought together thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship and plenty of attention to detail.

A huge thank you to our incredible team, trades and suppliers who helped bring this project to life, and of course, to our wonderful clients for trusting us with their home.

Handover Day at Parrearra 🏡

After four months of construction, we’re excited to hand over this recently completed full internal renovation.

This five-bedroom home has been completely transformed, including two bathrooms, WC, laundry, kitchen with walk-in pantry, new flooring throughout and a full internal repaint.
A huge effort from our team and trades to bring it all together. We can’t wait to share more of the finished spaces.

It’s been a while since we introduced the face behind Independent Building Group.

Meet Michael, Director and Builder behind every project we deliver.

Backed by more than 20 years of hands-on industry experience, Michael has worked across custom homes, complex renovations, extensions and architecturally detailed projects. From intricate structural work to high-end finishes, there’s not much he hasn’t encountered.

His greatest strength is problem solving. Whether it’s navigating structural challenges, refining construction details or finding practical solutions to achieve a client’s vision, Michael’s experience allows him to see opportunities where others see obstacles.

We often joke that he thinks like an engineer (don’t worry—we still leave the engineering to the engineers 😉), but his ability to understand complex structures, visualise the build process and work alongside architects and engineers is something our clients value throughout every stage of their project.

Whether you’re planning a custom home, a complex renovation or an architecturally detailed extension, you’re in experienced hands.

We revisited this full home renovation for a walkthrough with our client. Hearing how the space is living day-to-day, not just how it looked at handover. Her words say it best.

At Independent Building Group, we take the time upfront to build trust and communicate openly, so the process feels collaborative from start to finish. We’re proud to have clients who come back to us years later, a reflection of the relationships we build along the way.
