Open Ends vs Closed Ends. Why does it matter?

These two images show the exact same batten facade by Caloundra Lace in Caloundra, QLD. The only difference? One is finished with Nelsons CNC Aluminium End Caps. The other isn’t.

How do aluminium end caps stay in place without welding, screws or glue?

The answer is simple. A precision fit.

Our aluminium end caps are CNC machined to suit the exact internal dimensions of the extrusion, including the wall thickness and corner radius.

The underside of the cap is designed slightly larger than the opening of the aluminium section, so when it's tapped in with a rubber mallet, it grips the internal walls and stays put.
