I recently had a great chat to Donavon Riley and Duan Louwrens who are co-owners of Elite Air Conditioning Hire in Maroochydore. It is a family-owned and operated business which provides a temporary air conditioning solution for the event industry, specialising in corporate functions, weddings and festivals.
Donavon explained that “…being a relatively new business in Australia with a unique product it has taken a while to gain the trust and respect of the larger events companies. Fortunately, having being employed to provide air conditioning solutions for events like the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Avalon Air Show in Melbourne, Glencore charity event in Mount Isa and more recently the Elton John concert on the Sunshine Coast, we have been able to successfully demonstrate our business capabilities. This resulted in us being on track to make 2020 our break out year…”
Unfortunately, like all the companies in the event industry they were stopped in their tracks overnight by COVID-19.
“…our company was started by our Dad, Freddie, 22 years ago. He, along with mum and Duan were able to successfully grow the business to become the largest supplier of temporary air conditioning in sub-Saharan Africa. We identified that the technology being used in our industry was old and no longer best-suited for client requirements. After researching what was available on the international market we decided to use the new technology available but also design and manufacture our own equipment to work hand-in-hand. The result was a solution which offers our clients a more efficient, more flexible and more cost-effective solution…”
“… our company has always been known for its unwavering pursuit of customer satisfaction and its “can do” attitude. It’s because of these two characteristics that we have been able to battle through this very uncertain time and are now fortunately seeing a bit more light at the end of the COVID tunnel. We hope very soon to see Australia open up completely and once again see the event industry travelling full steam ahead…”
