The Icy Cool team recently got a call from a loyal customer requesting a pre-purchase inspection on a restaurant for a new shopfront.
After carrying out a full inspection, we uncovered a long list of hidden issues that could have turned into very expensive surprises down the track. The cold room was running on outdated R22 refrigerant and completely empty of gas, with dodgy wiring throughout, damaged/falling glass doors, missing door seals, and a heavily rusted condenser unit.
We also found the split system draining into a bucket due to a failed condensate pump, along with a leaking punch bowl blower on the underbench refrigeration system.
By identifying these problems before purchase, our customer is now armed with the right information to help negotiate the deal and avoid costly unexpected breakdowns after taking over the business.
