We’ve received some very positive updates from Vanuatu following last month’s 7.2 earthquake.
In Luganville, where CE+T technology provides a resilient off-grid power system for healthcare services at Medical Santo, the clinic has continued operating despite the loss of mains power.
In an update shared the following day, the Medical Santo team said:
“So far everyone is safe and unharmed. The clinic has not suffered any major damage — we will do a thorough check this morning. Our generator and solar systems are still working, and the lights and fans are on. A few items fell from shelves, but overall things are stable. The clinic will be open as usual today.”
Medical Santo provides vital healthcare in a region vulnerable to natural disasters. It’s encouraging to see the system supporting continuity of care exactly as it was designed to do at a critical time.
