🏗️ Engineered Access Solution | Orchard Hills Station 🚆
An-Co recently delivered a complex and highly engineered scaffold system at Orchard Hills Station on the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport line for Parklife Metro.
The preassembled Layher scaffold spans approximately 18.5m across the station above the platform and track, providing safe and efficient access for the lining of the structural steel canopy. Designed and supplied by Layher, the system showcases a high level of engineering and planning to achieve a solution that maintains access without disrupting critical works below.
A key feature of the scaffold is its rail-mounted design, allowing it to be progressively repositioned along the structure as works advance. This methodology delivered significant time and cost efficiencies, removing the need for substantially greater scaffold quantities while maintaining a high standard of safety and constructability.
This installation was completed via a major lift by Borger Cranes, with An-Co working closely to coordinate the lift and ensure safe and efficient placement of the system.
A strong collaborative outcome between Anco, Parklife Metro, Layher and Borger Cranes on a technically challenging piece of infrastructure.
