Not every job happens in a quiet residential street, sometimes it's a busy transport yard on a Saturday with trucks still moving through.

This site had sunken and cracked slabs scattered throughout the yard, a real problem for a business that relies on heavy vehicles moving across the ground every single day. The cause came down to a combination of factors: poor ground conditions beneath the slabs, water-induced subsidence building up over time, and the constant weight of heavy vehicle traffic gradually wearing away at the support underneath.

To correct it, we carried out resin injection to lift and stabilise every point our client needed treated, using both of our proprietary resin blends to achieve the best possible result for this site.

Sometimes the damage is already done before anyone even fixes the problem.

This home had cracking and sinking in the brick structure, a sign of significant movement beneath the footings. The cause traced back to an old, damaged water pipe under the structure. The pipe itself was eventually repaired, but by then it had already caused substantial ground subsidence, and that damage didn't reverse on its own just because the leak stopped.

To correct it, we carried out keyhole resin injection under the footings at multiple locations and varying depths, working to compact and improve the ground conditions beneath the structure.

The result: vastly improved soil conditions following injection. With the ground now treated and stabilised, cosmetic repairs can go ahead knowing the underlying cause has been properly addressed.

Try this: the marble test. 🔵

Want a quick way to check if your floors are moving? You already have the tool at home.

Put a marble (or a round pen, or a small ball) on your floor and let go. On a level floor, it barely moves. If it rolls on its own, consistently in the same direction across different spots, your floor may be sloping.

Try it in a few rooms. One spot could just be an uneven tile. But if the marble rolls the same way through the whole house, that points to the floor itself dropping on one side.

It's not a diagnosis, just an easy first check. If your marble keeps rolling, it's worth getting the floor levels properly measured.

This home had cracking through the external brickwork, along with subsidence developing on the front corner of the house and garage structure. The cause traced back to poor ground conditions beneath the structure, made worse by the additional weight added during recent renovations, extra load that put more pressure on footings already struggling to stay supported.

To correct it, we carried out resin injection at the most crucial locations across the property, working at varying depths to lift the structure and support the footings by improving the ground conditions underneath.

Can you lift a sunken driveway without replacing it? ✅

Yes, and it's faster and cheaper than most people think.

When a driveway slab drops or forms a lip between sections, the concrete usually isn't the problem, the ground underneath washed away or settled. So you don't need to rip it out and re-pour.

Instead, we drill holes smaller than a coin, inject resin into the space beneath, and lift the slab back to level. The resin fills the void and firms up the ground so it stays put.

Most driveways are done in half a day, with no demolition, no waiting for new concrete to cure, and a fraction of the cost of replacing.

The cause traced back to sinking footings, sitting on a sloping block where poor soil compaction beneath the structure had never given the foundations proper support.

To correct it, we carried out resin injection all along the external affected areas at varying depths, working to lift and stabilise the structure by improving the condition of the ground beneath it.

The result: really positive outcomes on this job. The lift was strong and controlled, the ground was safely improved throughout, and crack closure ended up far better than expected once the work was complete.

Hairline crack, or something to worry about? 🧐

Not every crack means trouble, but some do. Here's a simple guide.

Usually cosmetic:
• Thin, hairline cracks (thinner than a 20c coin's edge)
• Vertical, and not getting longer
• In plaster or paint only

Worth checking:
• Diagonal cracks that step through the brick mortar
• Cracks wider at the top than the bottom
• Cracks that keep growing over weeks or months
• Cracks with doors or windows sticking nearby

The biggest tell isn't the size, it's whether it's changing. A crack that stays put is usually settled. One that keeps opening means the ground is still moving.

Ground that was quaking wet sand back in 1938 doesn't just sort itself out.

The lift pit at the Great Northern Hotel in Newcastle sat on foundation material tested at around 400 kPa, well under the 500 kPa the structural brief required, and Lift 1 couldn't be signed off until that was fixed. The building was founded on reclaimed sand flats behind the harbour, ground the original builders themselves called "treacherous quaking sand." Testing confirmed the issue wasn't the whole site, just shallow deficient bands sitting right beneath the pit.

Jet grouting was ruled out early, too disruptive for a heritage building like this one. Instead we went with staged, low-volume resin injection through five small core holes, treating down to 1.5m beneath the pit base, with laser level monitoring running the entire time to track the response millimetre by millimetre.

Done in a single day, by a three-person crew, with before-and-after testing confirming the improvement. No excavation, no damage to the heritage fabric, and the pit handed straight back the same day.

One room, moving in three different directions at once. Here's why.

The rear rumpus room in this home wasn't just subsiding, it was subsiding unevenly, with different sections of the same room moving in different directions and at different rates. Floor level readings told the story clearly, with movement ranging across the room rather than settling as one unit.

The cause was a combination working against the structure at once. Both the sewer and stormwater services had been leaking over time, and that constant moisture was soaking into highly reactive clay beneath the room, gradually breaking down the ground's surface integrity.

To correct it, we carried out multiple injections across approximately 15 lineal metres, targeting the full length of the affected area rather than isolated points.

The result: complete footprint re-engagement of the drop edge beam and raft slab, with levels returned to within 3mm of level, restoring even, reliable support across the entire room.

The ground under most Australian homes isn't still, it breathes.

Many areas sit on reactive clay. When it rains, the clay soaks up water and swells. In a long dry spell, it dries out and shrinks. That constant swell-and-shrink under your foundations is one of the biggest causes of movement in Aussie homes.

It's why you might notice cracks that seem to open in summer and close in winter, or doors that stick at certain times of year.
