We’re pleased to share that Geney Bio has been accepted into the UNSW Pre-X program, supporting early-stage teams as they refine their technology, validate direction, and prepare for scale.

The program provides a strong foundation as we continue developing our platform and sharpening our approach to translation and commercialisation. It also positions us well for progression into UNSW’s Health 10X program, which supports high-potential ventures advancing towards real-world deployment.

Geney Bio is developing a next-generation manufacturing platform to improve access to advanced therapies, including cell and gene therapies and biologics. By enabling a single, scalable system that spans research, clinical development, and commercial production, Geney Bio aims to remove one of the largest bottlenecks in the field: the complexity and cost of manufacturing.

Current approaches often require separate processes, equipment, and expertise at each stage of development, leading to long timelines, high costs, and significant risk during scale-up. Geney Bio’s perfusion-based reactor platform is designed to unify these stages into a streamlined, continuous process, reducing the need for costly redevelopment and tech transfer.

The result is faster development timelines, lower manufacturing costs, and improved reproducibility, ultimately making advanced therapies more accessible to patients. By simplifying how these therapies are developed and produced, Geney Bio is helping bridge the gap between scientific innovation and real-world patient impact.

Geney Bio is a UNSW spinout backed by over six years of research and approximately $8 million in funding to date. The company is led by an experienced, multidisciplinary team with deep expertise in cell therapy, bioprocess engineering, and commercialisation.
