AKM Projects partnered with Ausrise and FDC to provide a stunning facade in the new student housing precinct building located in Macquarie University. Completed over 7 months, AKM Projects were responsible for the installation of the Frontek porcelain vertical complex geometry configuration panels for the 342 students residing in the University Campus.

Working with Rork Projects and the City of Parramatta, the new Wentworth Point Library and Community Centre is a project we’re particularly proud of. The project had been on hold for over two years waiting final design approval. Wentworth Point is a new, planned development with integrated living, retail, transport hub and social infrastructure designed to be a showpiece of community planning. The Wentworth Point Library and Community Centre is at the heart of that planning. Completed over two levels, we were responsible for the full fitout with Rork. Our scope included: feature perforated ceilings, Armstrong Soundscape floating panels, plasterboard walls & ceilings, aluminium framed glazing including faceted balustrade glazing, doors & hardware

Working with Richard Crookes Constructions, Jordan Springs Public School was a prototype hybrid construction – meaning the works were a combination of onsite and offsite construction. This construction method allowed the works to be completed in a more timely manner for the client – the NSW Department of Education. With a contract value in excess $1.5M, AKM Projects were engaged to complete the internal and external linings along with doors, frames and hardware for the Amenities blocks throughout the school and the Hall. We had extensive use of Supawood Architectural Lining Systems, perforated plasterboard and through-coloured CFC. That said, the most striking elements of our scope were the three covered outdoor learning areas (COLAs) that we were required to frame and sheet with prefinished Atkar Group plywood along with the skylights. These were completed at heights approaching 10m and finished with expressed joints and recessed, coffered bulkheads.

William Clarke College is a co-educational K-12 school located at Kellyville in Sydney’s northwest. To cater for their growing enrolments, AKM Projects were engaged by Rohrig Group to complete the external façade works for their new, three storey learning hub. Our scope involved working very closely with the client, architect, Rohrig and Kingspan Insulated Panels Global to install the Kingspan Benchmark panels and the fully insulated panels behind them. The Benchmark panels are constructed from aluminium, are interlocking and designed with varying cassette depths to create a striking 3 dimensional impact on completion. In addition to the solid panels, we also installed perforated panels and conventional fibre cement linings. The finished project was both functional and visually striking and was recognised by the Master Builders in their annual construction awards.

Macquarie University - Arts Precinct

Working for Lipman Constructions, AKM Projects were engaged to complete the: external soffit linings, feature aluminium capping to the stairwells & atrium and to install the imposing 11m composite timber beams to the entrance hall. The Arts Precinct represented a massive project for Lipman Constructions and the project was acknowledged in the 2020 Master Builder Construction Awards. The nature of our works being at height and involving heavy loads required an additional layer of safety planning and interaction with trades. The result is as elegant as it is striking
