Delivering Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) staging solutions on a live, high-speed regional highway requires more than design documentation alone.

Supporting ACCIONA on the Mudies Creek Flood Mitigation Works along the Golden Highway, D-TAL was engaged to provide traffic planning and design services, with our role expanding as construction progressed and site requirements evolved.

D-TAL delivered an integrated traffic engineering solution, including traffic staging, TMPs, Road Safety Audits, Safety in Design, signage and line marking, constructability, civil design, stakeholder coordination and construction-phase support.

Across the project, D-TAL supported:
✔ Construction staging and traffic planning
✔ Ongoing TMP, TGS and VMS updates during live construction
✔ Civil design and constructability input
✔ Access, sight distance and turn path assessments
✔ Construction-phase design support

This milestone highlights the value of early planning, clear coordination, and delivery-focused engineering.

Delivering Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) staging around an active interchange requires practical design, clear sequencing and close coordination with construction activities.

Supporting ACCIONA on the Putty Road Interchange, D-TAL was engaged to provide TTM and Road Design services for the Stage 1A works.

Our team developed temporary traffic arrangements to maintain safe vehicle movements along Putty Road while accommodating waterworks, utility construction and access to the work zone.

D-TAL’s scope of work covered:
✓ Temporary traffic staging and lane configuration design
✓ Strategic layout options for Putty Road and Waterworks Lane
✓ Construction access and work zone planning
✓ Turn path analysis for light and heavy vehicles
✓ Safe Intersection Sight Distance assessments
✓ Temporary signage and Road Safety Audit documentation
✓ Detailed CAD drawings for construction and TfNSW review
✓ Ongoing design coordination and drawing updates

This work established a clear and constructable staging approach, allowing construction activities to progress while maintaining traffic movements through the area.

Credit to ACCIONA and the wider team for their proactive coordination in refining staging arrangements that supported waterworks, utility works and construction access while keeping Putty Road operating safely.

A great way to mark the near completion of a recent package of work with the John Holland Group.

To celebrate the milestone, Alistair Neale from D-TAL, together with Oliver Thacker from Conelex, joined the John Holland team at MANIAX Axe Throwing Brisbane for an evening of axe throwing, food and drinks.

D-TAL support major infrastructure teams with practical engineering input across and our focus is on developing practical, constructable solutions that help project teams plan and deliver complex works safely and efficiently.

We valued the opportunity to work alongside John Hollandd\ Group, and thanks to Oliver Thacker and Conelex for joining Alistair Neale and D-TAL in marking the completion of the work.

D-TAL will continue to bring practical engineering, strong technical ownership and delivery-focused transport solutions to infrastructure projects.

Complex staging in live traffic demands more than a compliant design — it needs a strategy that can move seamlessly from tender through to delivery.

In our latest feature with The RoadBuilder, we share how D-TAL combined constructability, civil design and traffic management expertise to support the M7–M12 Interchange with a constructability-led temporary traffic management strategy.

This approach delivered:
• Zero redesign post tender
• TTM strategy implemented seamlessly in the field
• Value-engineered staging that improved the program and reduced cost

By bringing construction, design and traffic management expertise together from the outset, the team developed a staging strategy designed not only to work on paper, but to work in the field.

No redesign. No surprises. Just delivery.

Delivering temporary traffic management for a major bypass project requires more than compliant design—it requires a clear, buildable road map from strategy through to delivery.

In our latest feature with Build Australia, we share how D-TAL supported the Singleton Bypass through constructable staging strategies developed for a complex live-road environment.

Through this approach, the team delivered:
• Optimised staging with fewer traffic switches
• Major road-level differences resolved
• Safety, access and construction efficiency balanced
• A clear road map established through to completion

By combining temporary traffic management design, construction engineering and traffic management expertise, the team addressed complex staging challenges within a constrained corridor.

This is what construction-ready Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) looks like: integrated expertise, practical solutions and proven delivery.

When independence matters, confidence follows.

D-TAL is proud to have supported the Albury to Illabo section of Inland Raill by delivering an independent Road Safety Audit (RSA) for Kemp Street bridge, supporting Martinus Group in the delivery of critical bridge replacement and clearance upgrade works. 🚧

The engagement fulfilled a key project requirement by providing an independent assessment of the proposed design for Martinus Group and Transport for NSW.

As the independent auditor, D-TAL was not involved in the design process. This separation ensured an objective review focused solely on identifying road safety risks and improving outcomes for all road users throughout construction and into operation.

Our assessment considered:
• Road user safety for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and heavy vehicles.
• Safe movement for all road users (motorists, cyclists, pedestrians) through the scope of works and adjoining local roads and intersections.
• Potential conflict points between different road users.
• Visibility, driver decision-making and road user expectations.
• Pedestrian and cyclist access, continuity and safety.
• Signage, guidance and overall road user understanding.

Independent road safety audits provide an important layer of assurance, helping project teams identify risks early, improve safety outcomes and deliver infrastructure with greater confidence.

If your project requires an independent Road Safety Audit or road safety advice, we'd be pleased to help.

We’re pleased to be supporting the delivery of another important infrastructure upgrade in Western Sydney. 🚧

Now in major construction, the Richmond Road Upgrade will enhance safety, improve network performance, and increase capacity along a key growth corridor between the M7 Motorway and Townsend Road.

D-TAL is proud to support the Gamuda Australia and DT Infrastructure JV with specialist Traffic and Transport Management (TTM) services from tender through to delivery.

Our team alongside Gamuda Australia and DT Infrastructure developed a construction-led traffic staging strategy at tender. This strategy is now operational (Portion 1, Stage 1) and is supporting safe, efficient delivery on site.

It is a strong reflection of the value delivered through early planning, clear coordination and a delivery-focused approach — while drawing on the expert capability Gamuda Australia and DT Infrastructure JV continue to bring to major infrastructure projects.

We thank the Gamuda Australia DT Infrastructure JV, Transport for NSW, and all project stakeholders, for a strong start to the project!

Momentum is well and truly underway!

Keeping traffic moving while building critical infrastructure isn’t simple—but it’s exactly what we delivered together on the Singleton Bypass – Southern Connection (Stage 2A).

D-TAL is proud to be partnered with ACCIONA and Transport for NSW to support this milestone, providing a comprehensive Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) strategy and design that kept the New England Highway operational throughout major construction works.

Working closely with Acciona, we engineered how traffic could be safely staged, diverted, and maintained at 60 km/h—all within a constrained and active corridor. This collaboration enabled:

✔️ Continuous traffic flow with minimal disruption to the community
✔️ Safe and efficient separation between live traffic and construction
✔️ Streamlined delivery of critical permanent works

Our construction maximised permanent pavement construction works behind barriers

Considered critical level difference between existing and permanent pavement levels to ensure safe traffic movements.

This project demonstrates how construction expertise and design-tested TTM strategies can unlock complex infrastructure delivery—keeping communities moving whilst maximising construction productivity.

👏 Proud to be part of the Singleton Bypass team alongside our partners ACCIONA and Transport for NSW in delivering infrastructure that keeps communities moving—both now and into the future.

At D-TAL, we don’t just manage traffic—we work with our partners to design certainty into every stage of construction to ensure project delivery.
