DLG SHAPE is proud to be one of the Indigenous businesses to attend Supply Nation's round table discussion.

Yarning about challenges, wins, and ideas for our industry and how organisations like Supply Nation and NAB can continue to support Indigenous businesses to grow.

It was a fantastic session and encouraging to hear from all business owners, even some of our key supply chain partners who were in the room; Chris Johnson from SKS Indigenous Technologies Leon EGAN from BANBURRA (we dig it) and Kirby Bentley from Djookian.

A special thanks to Michael McLeod for taking the time to facilitate the conversation and his continued leadership in this community.

What happens when design, delivery and collaboration align from day one.

DLG SHAPE partnered with IA Design and Aston Consulting to deliver ’s new 700sqm Perth office under a Design & Construct model, managing the project from design finalisation through to delivery.

The modern workplace includes flexible meeting spaces, collaboration zones, wellness facilities and tech-enabled workstations, along with new sky signage installed four weeks ahead of schedule. Close coordination with stakeholders enabled the team to navigate base building challenges and deliver a high-quality outcome aligned with Zurich’s operational needs.

Yesterday, our DLG SHAPE team proudly supported the ’s inaugural For Youth, By Youth: The Next Generation event, held at Boomanulla Oval on Ngunnawal Country.

This powerful celebration, held as part of NAIDOC Week 2025, brought together First Nations youth, Elders, leaders and community for a day of inspiration, truth-telling and culture. The event featured a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, youth-led panel discussions, storytelling in the Youth NAIDOC Hub, a dedicated Elders Tent, and moving performances by local cultural groups and artists. The day also included a youth fashion runway, Indigenous games and sports clinics, a community services expo, Aboriginal business markets, and delicious food trucks serving up native flavours.

As a proud donor to the Message Stick Foundation, we share in the vision of empowering First Nations youth through healing, leadership pathways, and culturally safe spaces. NAIDOC Week reminds us of the importance of listening to and standing alongside the next generation. Yesterday was a true reflection of what’s possible when young people are given the platform to lead.

After six incredible years at DLG SHAPE, Michael Manikas, our esteemed General Manager, is stepping down to pursue an exciting opportunity overseas.

A proud Biripi and Worimi man, Michael has been pivotal in driving DLG SHAPE’s success and leading impactful projects like the award-winning Koorie Heritage Trust and Anindilyakwa Darwin Head Office, the Indigenous Desert Alliance HQ, the Indigenous Land & Sea Corporation offices, National Indigenous Australians Agency fitouts, and over 40 Defence projects.

Michael’s commitment to increasing Indigenous participation in the built environment led to advisory roles with key universities, and as part of the SHAPE leadership team, was instrumental in launching the SHAPE Connect Award, creating pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Michael was also the inaugural Chairman of the Property Council of Australia’s Indigenous Advisory Group, held roles on their NSW’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and worked with the Green Building Council of Australia to incorporate the Australian Indigenous Design Charter into the Innovation Challenge and Green Star Buildings credit.

Additionally, Michael orchestrated pro bono refurbishment projects and partnerships with Indigenous organisations like Redfern Youth Connect, Tranby, Mudgin-Gal, and Djirra.

While we're sad to see him go, we're thrilled for his next chapter and deeply grateful for his leadership and contributions. Join us in celebrating his achievements and wishing him the best for the future!
