Delivering Industrial Scale at Badgerys Creek

At Badgerys Creek, WEM Civil is delivering the bulk earthworks and infrastructure for a major industrial development, supporting the continued growth of Western Sydney’s logistics corridor.

With over 500,000m³ of material moved to date, complex staging requirements and a highly ambitious program, success was underpinned by getting the methodology right from day one.

From early risk identification through to high-production earthworks and carefully staged delivery, our team has taken a structured approach to ensure confidence, control and consistency across every phase. Key highlights include:

- Large-scale bulk earthworks delivered at up to 20,000m³ per day
- A phased construction across five separable work zones
- Major infrastructure delivered under live traffic conditions
- Strong stakeholder coordination across government, utilities and community

Meet Cooper, he joined WEM straight out of Year 12, as a Survey Apprentice, combining hands on site experience with formal training at TAFE. Three years on, he has progressed into the role of Project Surveyor, a reflection of both his commitment and the development opportunities available within our team.

Working across both field and office environments, Cooper plays a critical role in project delivery. From site set out and CAD modelling to drone surveys and precision GPS technology, he supports crews on the ground to ensure works are delivered accurately and efficiently.

At WEM, we are proud to support career pathways that grow with our projects, building capability, confidence and long-term opportunity.

The Jordan Springs wastewater infrastructure package — designed to service more than 1,900 residential lots within the new Jordan Springs community — saw WEM Water provide specialist construction services across the project.

A complex wastewater infrastructure project, the waterway civil works included:
• 1.1km of gravity sewer infrastructure
• 700m of PE rising main
• A 12-metre-deep wet well and pump station
• Multiple deep sewer manholes and overflow systems

Working through unstable ground conditions, deep excavations and high salinity groundwater environments, the project required advanced excavation methodologies, precision installation and most importantly a focus on team safety.

The result is a resilient wastewater network designed to support the continued growth of the Jordan Springs community for years to come.
