The latest agentic AI trend is not another flashy demo — it’s the cost of making agents actually useful. 💸
People are calling it “tokenmaxxing”: using AI agents so heavily that token usage starts looking less like a productivity expense and more like an infrastructure problem.
That does not mean every agent run is wildly expensive. The nuance matters. But agents are different from simple chatbots. They may plan, search, inspect files, call tools, retry after failures, summarise, and validate results — and every step can add tokens.
The real shift is this:
We are moving from “Can the agent do it?” to “Can the agent do it reliably, safely, and affordably every day?”
That is where agentic AI starts getting serious.
What do you think will matter most for production agents: cost, memory, governance, or safety?
