Immunity Group Australia is proud to support the Food Allergy Gala Dinner—an evening bringing our broader community together for an important charitable cause.

The Allergy Microbiome Foundation is an independent, volunteer-run charity. It operates separately from ImGA, with its own governance, charitable mission and decision-making. Funds raised through this event will support AMF’s charitable work, including food allergy research in general practice, education and community advocacy.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who carry so much, often quietly. 💙

The action plans, the medication, the label checks, the questions, the worries and, above all, the courage their children need.

To every dad, grandfather, stepdad, carer and father figure in our food-allergy community: thank you for helping make courage feel like home. 💛

With appreciation from Immunity Group Australia.

Tami Sussman Is Standing Up for Food Allergy Research

Children’s author and lifelong food allergy advocate Tami Sussman is turning her lived experience into laughter at the Allergy Microbiome Foundation’s Food Allergy Gala Dinner.

For one night only, Tami will take to the stage with an original stand-up comedy performance inspired by the realities of living with food allergies. From navigating food labels and social occasions to the awkward questions and anxious moments that food allergy families know all too well, Tami will bring warmth, honesty and humour to an experience that is often anything but funny.

This will be Tami’s first stand-up performance, created especially for the Gala and the food allergy community.

Immunity Group Australia is proud to help promote this important community event. The Allergy Microbiome Foundation is an independent, volunteer-run, DGR-registered Australian charity supporting food allergy research, education and advocacy.

Funds raised through the Gala will help advance food allergy research in general practice and strengthen awareness of the everyday challenges faced by individuals and families living with allergic disease.

The evening will bring together families, clinicians, researchers, advocates and community supporters for allergy-aware dining, inspiring speakers, entertainment, raffle prizes and the launch of the Foundation’s national report on food allergy and air travel.

🦸 FOOD ALLERGY SAFETY IS A SUPERPOWER! 🌟

Learning about food allergies can be colourful, creative and fun.

This worksheet helps children:

🥛 Recognise the foods they are allergic to
🛡️ Identify foods that are safe for them
🏷️ Practise checking food labels
🙋 Ask a trusted adult before eating
🚫 Remember never to share food
💊 Understand the importance of carrying their prescribed medicine
📣 Know to stop eating and tell an adult immediately if they feel unwell

Save the worksheet, print it and complete it together at home, at school or with your child’s care team.

Every child deserves to feel smart, prepared and confident about managing their food allergies. 💜

Always follow the child’s individual Allergy Action Plan and advice from their healthcare professional.

🥛🥚🥜🌾🐟🦀 MEET THE FOOD ALLERGY EMOJI CREW! 🌱💛

Food allergy education can be colourful, positive and fun for children.

Swipe through our new carousel to meet 13 friendly allergen characters representing milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, wheat, soy, sesame, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, lupin, mustard and celery.

Along the way, children can practise some important allergy-awareness superpowers:

🔎 Read the label
🙋 Ask a grown-up
🍱 Never swap or share food without checking
👂 Listen to and believe friends with allergies
🧼 Wash hands after eating
🤝 Help everyone feel included

Children will also learn three calm steps to remember if a friend may be having an allergic reaction:

1️⃣ Get a grown-up immediately
2️⃣ Follow the child’s Allergy Action Plan
3️⃣ Call 000 in an emergency

Food allergy education should not make children feel frightened or excluded. It should give them the knowledge, confidence and kindness to look after themselves and support their friends.

Save this carousel, explore it together and ask your child:

💬 Which allergen characters can you recognise?
💬 What should you do before sharing food?
💬 Who are the trusted grown-ups you can ask for help?
💬 How can you be an Allergy Ally?

Small actions can make a big difference. 💜

Please share this resource with families, teachers, schools, childcare centres and community groups.

Educational information only. Always follow the individual child’s Allergy Action Plan and advice from their treating healthcare professionals.

We are incredibly proud to host a talented group of interns from a local university and provide meaningful placements supporting food allergy research.

These placements give students the opportunity to contribute their knowledge, develop practical research skills and better understand the real experiences of individuals and families living with food allergies.

Their enthusiasm, fresh perspectives and commitment are already making a valuable contribution to our work. By supporting the next generation of researchers and professionals, we are helping to build a future with greater understanding, stronger advocacy and better outcomes for the food allergy community.

We are delighted to have them on this journey with us. 💙
