Apprentice Development Day 2026
On Friday 10 July, Stowe proudly hosted our Annual Sydney Apprentice Development Day at West HQ Rooty Hill, reflecting Stowe's ongoing commitment to the development of our apprentices.
This supports them on their journey as lifelong learners, provides them with the opportunity to enhance their technical skills, expands their industry knowledge, and helps them stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, current industry standards and best workplace practices.
Scott Gandy, Director provided the welcoming address, reinforcing the day's theme of 'Teamwork' – a value that sits at the heart of every successful business, every high-performing team, and everything we do. Success is rarely achieved by individuals working alone but from groups of people sharing knowledge, supporting one another, communicating openly, and working towards common goals.
We asked our apprentices to embrace three important mindsets – Resilience, Learning and Innovation – that helps people and teams succeed.
A resilient person has a growth mindset – they embrace challenges, strive to learn and improve, understand that purposeful practice leads to progress, actively seek feedback (viewing it as a learning opportunity) and recognise that failure is not the end of the journey but part of it.
A learning mindset is an exercise in humility. People who demonstrate this believe they can learn from everyone around them, that potential isn't fixed and that new skills can be developed through effort, persistence, practice and taking time to understand complex problems.
Lastly – an innovation mindset (also one of our core Stowe values) starts with curiosity. Curious people actively seek new ideas and different perspectives and are energised by hearing opinions that challenge their own; they value collaboration and agility, openly sharing information and working with colleagues rather than competing against them.
These mindsets don't just help individuals succeed – they strengthen teams, improve performance, and help create a positive culture here at Stowe.
Thank you to our dedicated Stowe trainers and our valued industry partners who delivered hands-on learning experiences and practical sessions on the day: SafeWork NSW, headspace Mt Druitt, CABAC, TechRentals, NHP Electrical Engineering Products, TLE, Klein Tools Australia, Milwaukee Tools Australia, Panduit and Wesco Anixter. Your continued support and expertise play an important role in developing the next generation of electrical professionals.
As an innovative leader in the industry, we recognise that our apprentices are the future of our business and our industry, playing a vital role in our success and helping us innovate, grow, and deliver the high standards our customers expect. Investing in their development today helps build a safer, more skilled, and innovative workforce for tomorrow.
