We finish our 48s in a wide range of liveries, and we've recently completed a few in Candy. Love it or hate it, these certainly stand out on the line!
The 48's have now been in service for 67 years, starting with the NSWGR and still now running today with private operators.

Back in 2024 we mounted a camera under one of our Silverton locomotives (1/8th scale Alco. Silverton, 48, 830) for a lap of the Grandchester track.
A few bumps here and there made the suspension work hard, showing how flexible and adaptive our mechanical designs are!
Designed from the wheels-up to be powerful and reliable machines, our locomotives will provide years of service at any railway.

The Galston 500 is coming up this Saturday 29th August at the Galston Valley Railway.

This fund-raising event challenges teams of locomotives to complete 500 actual kilometres of running, raising money for Multiple Sclerosis research.

Seeing triple!
Up at Track and Tent this month we had a great line up of the "big clyde" locomotives. On the right is one of our 2170 class locomotives, with final paint completed by the owner as "2195" in Bronco livery. In the middle is one of our 2400 class locomotives as "2407" in classic QR Blue. On the right is a privately built 2400 class in the right time at the right place in QR Bicentennial as 2401.
Those with keen eyes will also see one of our "Silverton" locomotives in the background.
We enjoyed Track and Tent this year and thank QSMEE for hosting this event. We'll be back next year!

We're all set up for Track and Tent 2026! You'll find us up behind the main building, our normal spot. Plus, look out for our TGR V-class Drewry available for test drive!
We'll be there on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Track and Tent is hosted by QSMEE, open to AALS members.

On this coming weekend QSMEE is hosting their annual Track and Tent event.
Open to all AALS affiliated members, this is a great opportunity to catch up with other model engineers and see all the latest in the hobby.
We will be there with some great new projects on display, plus the chance to take a test drive on one of our new locomotives.
