Great to see Ocean Nourishment in the news again, this time its an article from our foundation partner WhaleX. 2024 really showed us that the extreme climate predicted for so long, is now with us. If we waste more time our adaptation options will be limited and we can expect an extremely difficult future. So lets make 2025 the year we backed large scale climate solutions before its too late!!!

It is encouraging to see 200 + prominent world scientists calling for more rapid research into ocean carbon removal. This is critically important work and needs to be front and center in national efforts to stabilise the climate.
CDR is a compliment to emission reduction and all part of restoring a safe climate and much lower levels of CO2 than we are experiencing today.

Our Xprize Carbon Removal Team WhaleX has started work on measurement and verification of exported carbon arising from Ocean Nourishment. It's potentially Gt scale but its boot strapping for the moment whilst we build the investment case for ocean carbon. Ocean carbon experiments require a lot of equipment, people, a large boat and a lot of patience!! Great work WhaleX in pioneering this form of ocean carbon that mimics whales adding nutrients into the upper ocean, feeding phytoplankton and initiating ocean cycles that restore ecosystem health and lead to significant carbon export with strong permanence.
