NSW Mining The NSW Minerals Council is the leading industry association representing the NSW mining industry. Mining is critical to the economy of NSW.

Our sector provides NSW’s most valuable exports and around one-quarter of total NSW exports by value. There are thousands of people across NSW who work in mining and depend on a strong mining industry for their livelihoods. Our mining companies directly spend around $10 billion in NSW each year, underpinning the economic strength of many regional communities, and we also provide the coal used to g

The Pitch isn't about having the biggest project in the industry. It's about sharing ideas, initiatives and experiences that are helping shape a responsible mining industry.

NSW Premier Chris Minns has visited an underground coal mine in Lake Macquarie to show his support for the industry, meeting frontline workers alongside Minister for Natural Resources Courtney Houssos.

The NSW Government has recently released an updated strategy setting out the future of coal mining in NSW, giving workers and companies operating here certainty about the future as demand for our high-quality NSW coal remains strong, for making steel and for energy production.
