Looking Back in History ❄️

Winter in 2016 at the East Guyong mobile asphalt plant wasn’t for the faint-hearted.

With snow, ice and sub-zero mornings, our crews kept production moving in one of the toughest working environments in the Central West.

The East Guyong facility sits at an elevated position in the Cabonne Shire between Bathurst and Orange.

While snow is generally rare across Australia, this specific pocket of the Central Tablelands routinely experiences heavy frosts, winter ice, and localized snow dumps that can halt highway transport.

🚧 PAVEMENT REHAB 🚧

Our crews recently completed pavement rehabilitation works with Cumberland City Council, delivering a coordinated operation from profiling through to asphalt paving.

The project involved:
• Milling the existing road surface using a 2m profiler
• Supplying and laying 240 tonnes of 14mm AR320 asphalt
• Managing full traffic control to ensure the safety of workers and the community
• Coordinating multiple haulage vehicles, support plant and paving crews to keep the project moving efficiently
With careful planning, quality materials and experienced crews, we're proud to continue delivering durable road infrastructure that keeps local communities moving.

🎥 Looking Back in History

It's hard to imagine now, but over 30 years ago this section of the Pacific Highway south of Coffs Harbour looked very different.

Photographed in February 1993, the image shows construction underway as the highway was expanded from a single carriageway to dual lanes in each direction—a project that helped shape the road network we rely on today.
