Smiling because it’s Earth Day 🌍

It’s easy to be overcome by a sense of dread when considering the threats to our beautiful nature and planet. It is important to acknowledge this but then not let the sense of dread drag down our ability to take action. Earth day is a day to take a step back and look at actually how far environmental awareness and efforts have come and look towards future opportunities in this space with excitement 😁 The fact is there are a whole lot of people doing awesome projects trying to make effective positive changes to help our environment.

Carapac celebrated Earth Day at Taronga Zoo sharing our story and excitement, along with other teams working on fantastic STEM projects for a better future!

Giving a tree an actual hug in the spirit of Green Friday🌿

I love a good deal but I love good ethical sustainable values more! Tomorrow instead of buying into the fast fashion frenzy of Black Friday, make cool conscious sustainable decisions and shop great deals with eco-friendly brands!

Currently 80% of Australian textiles and plastics end up in landfill.

Check out www.greenfriday.com.au for a list of fantastic brands doing good by the environment that have sick eco-friendly deals.

Yes! Yes you can BUT ONLY if it the product or packaging is certified Home Compostable. 👍

It is important to note that Home Compostable items will most likely take more time to break down in comparison to the food waste you place in the bin. However, they will still breakdown in these conditions and blend with the juicy compost you are making at home.

Avoid placing Industrially Compostable materials or any other form of bio-plastic materials in your home compost bin. These materials need much more intense and specific conditions in order to break down.

Swipe to see the difference between the two and what signs on packaging to look out for in order to distinguish between materials.

High Five to those who already have a home compost bin 🖐
For those who haven’t made the leap yet, we would 10/10 recommend doing so to reduce landfill waste, reduce your carbon footprint, recycle your food waste and then provide your garden or pot plants with some great nutrients 🪴

Carapac products are all Home Compostable 🌿

Thank you for this great question!

Our material is naturally a yellow colour. Why do we change the color (naturally)?
To indicate that Carapac is different to plastic and cannot go into recycling as it’s made from leftover crustacean waste. It can be composted or better yet, planted directly into your pot plants or garden 🌱
