Trimble Precision on a Compact Machine 👊💪 Anthony Prugger from Prugger Group with his newly installed Trimble Earthworks system on a Bobcat grader blade, completed by SITECH Solutions Support Technician Ben Frost. Based in Coonabarabran, Anthony is looking forward to putting the new Universal Total Station (UTS) setup to work, moving some dirt across a range of civil and earthmoving projects throughout Central NSW.

Trimble Earthworks for grader blades brings advanced machine control technology to compact equipment, giving operators real-time blade guidance and automatic grade control for more accurate trimming and surface preparation. Using the Universal Total Station (UTS) setup, the system continuously tracks blade position and compares it against the site design to help maintain precise levels and consistent grading performance.

The system is ideal for applications including final trim, site pads, road formation, car parks, drainage work and landscaping, helping operators reduce overcutting, minimise material waste and achieve finished grade faster with fewer passes. The intuitive Android-based display provides clear in-cab visuals, cut/fill information and live design views, making it easier for operators to work efficiently and confidently on site.

For contractors like Prugger Group, Trimble Earthworks on a compact grader blade setup delivers the ability to complete detailed grading work with greater speed, accuracy and consistency while getting more value from smaller machines.

A strong three days with the team at SITECH Solutions at the National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo.

Showcasing the latest from Trimble—from scalable machine control solutions suited to smaller operators, right through to full 3D earthworks systems for large-scale projects.

The SMG setup in particular is making it easier for crews to set out and work to design without the need for additional labour on the ground, while integrations like Works Manager and Starlink are changing how projects are managed—allowing real-time updates, remote data transfer, and better visibility across site operations.

Add in the new Android-based controllers and faster processing, and it’s a clear step forward in how jobs are delivered on site.
