FOUR YOUNG NORTHERN BEACHERS ROWERS GIVEN $5000 BOOST.
G.J. Gardner Homes Sydney North has backed four local schoolboys who are chasing a sporting dream, by sponsoring the team of young rowers.
St Augustine’s College students Brandon Smith, Joshua Wilson, Oliver St Pierre, and Beau Nicholas row together at a school, club (Mosman Rowing Club), and national level. Despite the challenges surrounding COVID-19 the young men are keeping a positive mindset and training hard.
G.J. Gardner Homes Sydney North recently sponsored the aspiring sportsmen with a $5,000 donation. Owners Horst and Melissa Lueckl said the determination and commitment of the rowing team is the reason why they chose to collaborate.
“Supporting the local community on every level is so important to us, and when you have four young men giving their sport a real shot it’s hard not to get on board with that,” Horst said.
“We hope this donation helps Brandon, Joshua, Oliver, and Beau go even further in their sporting career,” he added.
The four northern beaches teenagers have been rowing together since year nine, and earlier this year were all selected for the Under 19 Men’s Australian Rowing Team.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, they are unable to travel to Bulgaria this month to compete in the Junior World Championships.
This donation will help them work towards their next goal - to hopefully be selected to represent Australia again next year where the Junior World Championships will be held in Italy.
“It is truly inspiring to see how mature and enthusiastic these teenagers are,” Melissa said.
“We are proud they are part of our community, and proud G.J. Gardner Homes Sydney North can play a small part in helping them achieve their rowing goals,” she added.
