Burbidge Farms is a family run business which specialises in fine wool production between Tarcutta and Tumbarumba on the South West Slopes of NSW and at Simpson in South West Victoria, Australia.

The principals are Grant and Annette Burbidge. Burbidge Farms has a flock of about 28,000 fine wool merino sheep.
​
In 2015 the first Shear Anywhere upright position wool harvesting equipment was manufactured for Burbidge Farms. By 2022 more than 175,000 sheep had been shorn on the system. This system is less stressful for the shearers and produces superior wool handling compared to conventional shearing.

Need to be fit.
Full Training provided.
Accommodation available.
Drivers license essential.
Other sheep work available
Previous sheep experience and work dog would be looked upon favorably however not essential.
Start immediately with work until Feb 2027, could lead to permanent position.
Must have Australian work rights and be in Australia now.

The saying goes “Overnight success usually takes 15 years”. In this case nearly 40 years.

It was only achieved by those who have assisted us over those 40 years. A special thank you to Annette, Megan, Tim and Nicola. Also to our current shearing team and all those who came before them. It just shows that shearing and wool preparation on our Shear Anywhere platform system enables superior wool preparation for the most discerning Italian wool processors.
