Last week our Director Jason Styles rode from Glen Innes to Newcastle over five days for the 2026 Ride for Sick Kids, finishing at Ronald McDonald House Newcastle on Saturday. PowerEarth was proud to be a Gold Sponsor.

The ride's done but the page is still open. Jason's on $13,199 of a $20,000 goal. That last $6,800 works out to around 35 nights of accommodation for a family with a child in hospital.

Around 700 families a year get a place to stay at the Houses in Newcastle and Tamworth, close to their child during treatment. That's what the money does.

🚴 He made it. 513km, five days, done.

Jason rolled into Ronald McDonald House Newcastle on Saturday to finish the 2026 Ride for Sick Kids, five days after setting off from Glen Innes.

Along the way: school visits, a stop at Ronald McDonald House Tamworth, a brutal 136km day into Scone, and the whole week spent in the Yellow Jersey 💛

🚴 Day 2 in the bag. 120km, Armidale to Tamworth.

The riders headed off from Armidale this morning for the toughest day of the ride so far. A drink stop at Captain Thunderbolt's Rock south of Uralla, then on through Bendemeer and down the Moonbi Range into Tamworth. Not a bad spot to catch your breath, even if the bushranger it's named after had an easier time getting up the range 😄.

They also stopped in at Ronald McDonald House Tamworth for a tour and afternoon tea. A good reminder of exactly where the money goes: a place for families to stay close to their child during treatment.

🚴 Day 1 in the books, and Jason's in the Yellow Jersey!

The team gathered at Giant Newcastle yesterday morning before making the trip up to Glen Innes for the start of the 2026 Ride for Sick Kids.

Today our Director Jason Styles knocked over the first 99km, riding Glen Innes to Armidale. Four more days and over 400km to go before the peloton rolls into Ronald McDonald House Newcastle on Saturday.

Before heading off, the crew visited Glen Innes Public School to share what the ride is all about with the students. A great way to start.

Jason was then awarded the Yellow Jersey by Ross, recognising his ongoing support of Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW and his effort on the road. We couldn't be prouder 💛

No pot of gold at the end of this rainbow, just a brand new electrified rail line. 🌈⚡ We'll take it!

Our WA Engineering Manager Ronan snapped this beauty on site in Western Australia this week, with the rainbow landing right on the overhead wiring.

As Ronan put it: "PowerEarth — bringing gold to rail projects since 1994."

💪 This June, the PowerEarth team is taking on The Push-Up Challenge - Australia's largest mental health and fitness event, raising awareness for mental health and su***de prevention.

The idea came from our engineer Peter Salem, who's completed the full challenge three years running and even donates 1 cent for every push-up he finishes. "I just enjoy how it brings people together through a shared challenge," he says, and this year the whole team is getting behind it, working toward the target at their own pace.
