Congratulations to Sean on being our latest NDNA Award winner.

Sean consistently goes above and beyond for NEPEAN and his team. Recently, while on annual leave, he was called about a critical issue with a project dispatch. Within 35 minutes he was onsite, taking ownership, helping resolve the issue and supporting the team through a challenging situation.

It’s a great example of Sean steppigng in to make sure our customers are successful and getting the job done.

Planning the work, identifying hazards, following procedures, using the right equipment and looking out for one another all play a role in delivering a safe project.

There’s a lot more that goes into a project like the Coffs Harbour Bypass than what you see driving along it.

NEPEAN Power was engaged early in the project to design and deliver six portal equipment rooms and the Motorway Operations and Maintenance Facility (MOMF), which will house the bypass control centre.

All seven rooms were designed as modular infrastructure and manufactured at our Thornton facility before being transported more than 450km to Coffs Harbour.

The MOMF presented a particularly interesting challenge. The building was split into three modules, transported to site and lifted into position using a 650-tonne crane before being reassembled.
Getting it there took plenty of planning and coordination across our engineering, manufacturing, logistics and site teams, all while working to a tight delivery schedule.

Last week, our Sales & Marketing Manager, Andrew Milliss, attended The Power of Procurement – Smart Mining Networking Event, hosted by Austmine.

The event brought together industry leaders to discuss local manufacturing, innovation, emerging technologies and the importance of strong project partnerships.

Phil Hollway (Yancoal), Adrian Howard (WesTrac), Ryan Mason-Cox (Thiess) and moderator Dallas Wilkinson (Austmine) shared their experience and insights, creating a great opportunity to hear what's shaping the mining industry and how we can continue delivering better outcomes for our customers.

A few big units lined up in the workshop and nearly ready to head out the door.

These are our 11kV / 1kV, 4-outlet flameproof substations, each fitted with an Ex d, Ex p static pressurised transformer certified up to 2MVA. Every unit has been engineered in-house to integrate with our customers' downstream equipment requirements.

A lot of design, fabrication and testing goes into each one, so seeing them together and ready for the next stage is a win.
