When this photo was taken I was working on one of the largest commercial high rise construction projects in Australia. Employing a team of 30 guys and responsible for making sure they all made it home safely every day. Working directly with the project Architect who gave me a good range of design freedom to bring his vision to our scope of the project. Was even directly responsible for several high level awards being won for the design outcomes π Two years later, I gained my first QBCC licence and now seven years on & 30 years under my belt in construction have achieved Builder status. I am always learning and have had the honour of being taught by my mentor, best friend and hubby who still shows me unwavering support every day. For girls looking at getting into a trade, construction has been super rewarding for me. No special treatment, just head down, bum up and enjoy what youβre doing. Carpentry is definitely my favourite. Go the girls ππ
