New on the platform: Frost Mapping πΎβοΈ
Frost Mapping in the DataFarming platform just got an upgrade. A new 30m resolution layer (in beta) is now available alongside the 2km maps rolled out last season, built through a CSIRO and GRDC-led frost and heat research project.
The underlying temperature data is satellite-derived, then enhanced using elevation, slope and cold air drainage β landscape factors that mean two paddocks a few hundred metres apart can experience very different frost severity. Use it to pinpoint exactly where frost damage may have occurred in the paddock.
