A correct diagnosis can save you from replacing parts you don’t actually need.👍

This engine came to QFI after another workshop had diagnosed faulty injectors and recommended replacing them. Before replacing anything, our technicians did a thorough assessment of the engine and its components. The injectors turned out to still be serviceable. The real problem was a blown head gasket and burnt valves.

We let the customer know straight away, explained what we’d found and fixed the actual faults rather than replacing parts that were still in good condition. The result was a more appropriate repair, lower parts costs and a very happy customer.

At QFI, we believe good workmanship starts with an accurate diagnosis, honest advice and only replacing what genuinely needs replacing.

A tricky repair calls for the right approach, and that comes from years of hands-on experience.

Our workshop found that the EGR cooler mounting bolts had snapped off in the exhaust manifold. With heavy corrosion in the way, pulling the manifold risked breaking more bolts in the cylinder head.

After carefully assessing the situation, our technicians removed the broken bolts with the manifold still in place. That kept the risk of further damage down and saved the customer unnecessary repair costs.💪

This one’s for the history books! 📚 Our first DEUTZ Xchange built right here in Australia!

This DEUTZ BF4M1013 has been completely stripped, assessed and tested, receiving some serious TLC along the way.

Work included:

• New oil pump
• New water pump
• New oil cooler
• New valves & springs
• Replacement lines
• New connecting rod bushes
• Polished crankshaft

Once finished, this good as new exchange engine will head back to work in a trackless underground mining vehicle.

A big job, a great result, and a special milestone for the team, plus it’s the first of many more DEUTZ exchange engines on the way!

Fuel Pump TLC

Is your fuel pump running rough? Well, so was this one!

This fuel pump came out of a TD45 Volvo Loader that didn’t want to run at all. After a bit of TLC from Jason (our automotive fitter and turner who you may remember from our last post!), it’ll soon be on its way back home, ready to keep things running for many more years to come!
