We had the pleasure of hosting Jhett for work experience the past four weeks. This is the second time he has been onsite with us and we can't thank him enough for all the help he has provided in such a busy time.

🏠 Our own home 🏠

We've been blessed to be able to do our own home renovations these past three years, thanks in large part to our valued clients who keep our renovation kitty full. 🙌 (Swipe for the before pic!) 😮

It's been a very slow renovation, which is far from over and the to-do list just seems to be getting bigger and bigger by the month.

We've wanted to share more pictures, as it's a pretty unique home that has a lot of features that aren't too common these days, but there is not one aspect of our home that is completely finished.

But tonight, I (Tara) thought f**k it. Let's celebrate the wins in whatever form they take. Our front facade hasn't had its final coat of paint, a window hood still needs to be built for the office window, fretwork and other feature timberwork still needs to be added and our front deck currently has no ceiling or electricity wired in. It's all still very much a work in progress. But it's our home and I think the best way to understand what someone is going through, is to live it.

So for all our future clients, we get it. Renovations are expensive and stressful and a huge thing to do, but just know that we are in it together.

What we’re after:

- 2+ years of experience in residential carpentry
- Someone reliable, skilled, and ready to be part of a solid crew — not a subbie, but a true team member

I wish we could show you the before photos of this deck and roof replacement... But someone (*cough* Leigh *cough*) forgot to take them 🥴... So just trust us when we tell you this was a perfect glow up just in time for the mint Nth QLD weather we are about to have! ☀️

The electrical has since been completed and I bet the new owners of this gorgeous outdoor area used their Easter long weekend to complete the painting themselves!! 🍫

This is the fourth job we've completed for this client, with their first job being way back in 2018/2019! We are so lucky to have so many amazing repeat clients. 😍

Our is well and truly coming along, now that the rain has 'mostly' left Townsville!

We often get people not just slowly drive by, but fully stop and stare at this new build that looks a bit out of place in a new home sub division.

This type of home might not be the standard for Townsville and surrounds, but in our opinion, it's the best way to build. There are so many positives to building a timber frame home that is raised up off the ground.

What We’re Looking For:

- Experience in carpentry and renovations (custom new builds would be a bonus!).
- The ability to read and interpret plans like a pro.
- Solid knowledge of building materials, tools, and techniques.
- A passion for high-quality workmanship and making every detail count.
- Problem-solving skills and a great eye for detail.
- The ability to work independently but also be a team player — you'll be working with both experienced carpenters and eager apprentices.
- A strong work ethic and a focus on safety on-site.

We’re also looking for a motivated and eager apprentice carpenter to join our awesome crew! This is a perfect opportunity to dive into the carpentry world, pick up some solid skills, and start working on exciting renovation projects. If you're passionate about building things, love hands-on work, and want to learn from the best, this is your chance! New apprentices and those currently within their apprenticeship are encouraged to apply.

- Keen to Learn: If you’ve got the drive to pick up new skills, we’ve got the tools and know-how to help you grow.
- Team Player: You’ll be working with others, so we need someone who’s chill, reliable, and down to help out.

- If you’ve got some basic knowledge of carpentry tools or construction, great! But if not, that’s cool too - we’re here to teach.
- Must have reliable transportation and a current driver’s licence to get to job sites.
