It was such a nice surprise to see all these old microscopes on display in the Hoi Polloi Cafe in Denham Lane, Townsville city centre. Some were even from the University of Liverpool, UK where I graduated and developed my love of microscopy. I had great coffee and a delicious wrap too :-)

This iris mechanism in a Leica polarising microscope had become stuck. I Iove taking these apart, cleaning them up and getting them working again!

This was a new one for me. Two gecko eggs inside the base of a microscope - one hatched the other dried out.
