We hit the jackpot when we discovered an abandoned tower with a disused water tank! It was the perfect spot to train for a confined space vertical rescue in both breathable and toxic environments. Our rescue plan served as a starting point, but as we experimented with new techniques, both trainees and I gained invaluable knowledge. Our training session took place at Kamoto Copper Mine on September 25th, 2015, in Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of Congo. Training Mongolian Shotfirers (Blasting Engineers) in the Shotfirers Training Program. This was unit 1.3.1 which was an Introduction to Explosives. The training was held in the underground training room at the Oyu Tolgoi Mine on the 22nd of September 2018.

It was truly an enriching experience.
