Autumn Crisp heading towards harvest at Fairview Orchards

There’s a strong crop hanging at Fairview Orchards in Far North Queensland, where Autumn Crisp is now entering the final weeks before harvest.

Careful bunch preparation has helped create space for more uniform berry development and sizing, while a comprehensive Agri Technovation programme supports decision-making throughout the season.

ITEST™ LEAF, ITEST™ CARBOHYDRATES, foliar nutrition and fertiliser programmes provide ongoing insight into the crop, while MYFARMWEB™ brings farm information together over time to build a clearer picture of vineyard performance from season to season.

The grower credits AT’s inputs, services and programmes as an important foundation for the results being achieved, backed by horticulturist Gerrie van Deventer and the wider field, agronomy and operations teams.

A great crop heading into the home stretch.

Pollinator™ Trials on 2PH Lemons

A trial conducted in the Sundays River Valley, South Africa on 2PH lemons evaluated the effect of Pollinator™, a blended formulation supporting reproductive phenology, on fruit set, fruit size, and overall yield.

The study was conducted using a Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD), with applications timed according to flowering stage:
• 20–40% flowering
• 60–80% flowering (full bloom)

Data collected included fruit number, average fruit diameter, yield per tree, and estimated yield per hectare, supported by ANOVA and post-hoc statistical analyses.

The strongest response was observed from a single application of Pollinator™ at 60–80% flowering, resulting in:
• +11.67% increase in yield
• +3.54% increase in fruit size

The results continue to demonstrate strong commercial potential through improved fruit set, fruit calibre, and overall orchard productivity.

The season’s potential is shaped long before harvest.

As Australian citrus enters flowering, the tree’s nutritional status and carbohydrate reserves play a critical role in supporting flowering, fruit set, and early fruit development.

ITEST™ LEAF measures the nutritional status of the tree, providing insight into nutrient availability, uptake, and physiological activity. While ITEST™ CARBOHYDRATES complements this by measuring the tree’s carbohydrate reserves, helping determine whether sufficient energy is available to support reproductive growth and crop development.

Together, these services provide a deeper understanding of the tree’s physiological condition, enabling informed management decisions during one of the most influential stages of the citrus season.

Measure what matters now, and manage the season with confidence.

Water quality – the first step to better spray performance.

Water pH plays a critical role in the performance of many agrochemicals. Correct spray water pH helps create the right conditions for effective agrochemical performance.

pHix 5™ adjusts spray water and tank mix pH to the ideal 4.5–5.5 range, helping maintain a stable spray solution throughout mixing.

Get the pH right. Get the results.

Better soil information makes for better drainage decisions.

Our team recently visited a canola grower in Western Australia to demonstrate how MYSOIL CLASSIFICATION™ and drainage mapping can support practical, long-term improvements in the field.

By understanding the soil profile and the way water moves across the landscape, growers can design drainage solutions, such as reverse interceptor banks, that help reduce erosion, improve water movement, and protect valuable topsoil.

The right information not only explains what's happening but can help shape better decisions for seasons to come.

Understand the root cause for the right recommendation

Our team recently visited a canola paddock near Brookton, Western Australia, after a grower raised concerns about symptoms that looked like a potassium deficiency.

Using previous AT soil mapping together with observations in the field, the symptoms were identified as a response to cyclical water stress rather than a nutrient deficiency.

By 10:30 that morning, overnight dew had already changed the appearance of the crop, confirming the diagnosis.

Understanding the difference helps growers avoid unnecessary applications and make decisions based on what's really happening in the crop.

That's the value of combining field experience with precision agriculture.

Planning the season ahead with .au

Agri Technovation recently spent time with the technical team at Redland Fruit, visiting citrus orchards across the Riverina region to assess current crop performance and evaluate tree condition ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The discussions focused on practical planning for the months ahead, including pruning, soil correction strategies, fertiliser planning, and fruit set management.

Time in the orchard provides the context needed to align each part of the programme with the condition of the trees and the requirements of the coming season.

We look forward to working alongside Redland Fruit as the focus shifts towards stronger orchard performance and better crop outcomes in 2026/27.

Supporting reproductive phenology to improve macadamia yield

A commercial field trial conducted in the Northern Rivers, NSW, evaluated the effect of Pollinator™ on yield across four macadamia varieties: A203, A38, MCT1 and 344. Pollinator™ was applied once at 80% flowering, with treated rows compared to adjacent untreated controls under commercial orchard conditions.

Yield and kernel quality were evaluated at harvest. Data were collated by treatment and interpreted across each variety to determine the effect of Pollinator™ on productivity.

Positive yield responses were recorded across the varieties evaluated, including:

A203: +17.5%
A38: +8.6%
MCT1: +134.8%

The consistent response across multiple varieties demonstrates the potential of supporting reproductive phenology during flowering to improve yield and commercial productivity in Australian macadamia orchards.

Timing is everything. With flowering underway across Eastern Australia, now is the time to apply Pollinator™ and support reproductive phenology when it matters most.

Barley planting in Cunderdin

In June, planting operations were underway on this barley block in Western Australia, where a farmer-scale demonstration of UNLOCK P3 has been established.

The focus is on supporting early establishment and root development, and creating the conditions for stronger crop development from the start.

Good seasons begin with good starts.

Agri Technovation South Africa in Australia

Our team recently spent time working alongside leading citrus operations, combining in-field engagement with attendance at ’s Annual Australian Citrus Congress in Adelaide.

Time in the field remains central to how we work – evaluating conditions, aligning strategies, and engaging directly with growers to ensure that decisions are grounded in what’s happening on the ground.

The visit also provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships, exchange practical insights, and align approaches for the upcoming season across regions.

Good conversations, clear thinking, and practical planning, this is Agri Technovation’s approach.
