I’ve had a few days off on a road trip from Cairns to Brisbane. As always stopped at every marina and marine slip/travel lift yard on the way. Thanks Noel’s for allowing me. 🤣

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things Monday.

The slip calendar is starting to fill up quick, so if you’re thinking of slipping before Xmas, please give me a call, so I can lock it in.

Interesting day today removing the Volvo out of Stormalong to start preparing for the installation of the Gardner. Going to be a great job to be involved in.

Thought I should keep my customers and the wider marine community up to date.

Below is the blueprint plan recommended by the Triabunna Tomorrow Marine Precinct Infrastructure Committee. This information is publicly available through the East Coast Tourism website.

With the new ferry not too far away, it's obvious that changes are coming to the marina.

For the past few years, I've been concerned about what the future holds for my business. After 36 years of operating here, I honestly don't know what I would do if my lease wasn't renewed.

Glamorgan Spring Bay Council (GSBC) has advised me that my business, slipways, and marine workshop are considered an essential service to the marina, and I am very grateful for their support.

However, my lease is with Crown Land/NPWS.

Under the proposed blueprint plan, my business would be relocated to another site. There is also the possibility that my lease may not be renewed, which could result in my business being forced to close and my current site being used for another purpose.

If that happens, the marina and the East Coast would lose two small slipways, a fully equipped marine workshop, and the experience and skills I've built over the past 36 years.

My hope is that those making these decisions will recognise the value of keeping these essential marine services in Triabunna and make the choice that is in the best interests of the marina, local boat owners, and the wider East Coast community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my business over the years. Your support means a great deal, and I'll continue to keep you updated as I learn more.
