🚂❤️ALL ABOARD THE LEGEND OF STEAM!

Today we’re stepping back in time aboard the iconic 3801 steam locomotive, enjoying a spectacular round trip from Sydenham to Wollongong and back! 🌊🚂

First entering service in 1943, this magnificent locomotive is a true piece of Australian railway history.

From setting a Sydney-to-Newcastle speed record in 1964 to travelling through every mainland Australian state and territory, 3801 has certainly earned its title as a Legend of Steam! ✨

During its restoration, Leussink Engineering manufactured the connecting rods, helping return this historic locomotive to the rails and preserve its legacy for future generations. 🔧🚂

There’s something magical about the sound of a steam whistle, the rhythm of the rails and the nostalgia of travelling the old-fashioned way.

83 years of history and still going strong! ❤️

That’s a wrap on the Australian Foundry Institute’s 60th Annual National Conference!
We were proud to see Andy Pickering from Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery take the stage twice - first on sand reclamation techniques to reduce waste and save energy, then with his keynote on 40 years in the foundry industry and what lies ahead.
The feedback says it all - one attendee with 30+ years in the foundry industry thanked Andy for the clearest talk on sand reclamation they’d ever heard.
