It’s been another week of marine madness here at WMB HQ! And we honestly can’t believe it’s the end of August – where is this year going?!? We had a bit of a mixed bag of goodies this week, which always keeps us on our toes!!

* We installed a new LiveScope setup with all the bells and whistles for the ladies of No Tackle Box. They have been hanging out to level up their fishing game in their trusty Stessco Gulf Runner, and we love being a part of their journey! Now we just need to see those metery pics girls – no pressure!!!

* We did a brand new Minn Kota Terrova Quest install on Russell’s beauty of a Haines Signature. The gang at Micks Ally Fab did a stellar job on getting the bracket just right, which can be tricky on glass boats! We know having this new piece of equipment is going to a game changer for Russell – and he was absolutely chomping at the bit to get out on the water for a test run!

* We also undertook some remediation works on Daniel’s Barcrusher 670WR. There were a few niggling things that weren’t working as they should be - and that’s where an experienced pair of eyes and a bit of fault finding is definitely required! The Barcrusher now has functioning bilge and bait tank pumps, a genuine Minn Kota plug to replace the old Anderson plug, as well as some handy lighting upgrades to make good use of her time in the workshop.

So it’s TGIF from us - we are ready for some chill time over the weekend before another big week!

Darren bought in his awesome black poly boat earlier this year for a full fit-out, but we have been holding out to see the final product after the wrap and Deck Armour flooring was completed by Jo at Custom Graphix NT
And it was absolutely worth the wait!!!!🤩

So what exactly went into getting her ready to wet a line?

* A 36v 100ah BLA Marine Lithium for the trolling motor
* Installation of a Black Minn Kota Instinct Quest trolling motor
* Flush mounting the Garmin GPSMAP 8416xsv in the console, along with a Weatherdeck 6 Position Switch Panel and ScanStrut USB chargers, and accessories sockets up at the bow
* Lights galore, including a custom under gunnel light kit, Narva 10” EX2-R light bars off the bow, Hella Marine Apelo A2
underwater lights off the transom and black Attwood Navigation lights
* A Fusion MS-RA210 Stereo & XS Sports Speaker Kit

As always, keeping everything neat, tidy and easily accessible was key – with all the important wizardry being located in the console, which is all accessible by the watertight access doors. The bonus being there is plenty of space in there for the custom aluminium tackle tray holder!

Now hopefully the luck of the Irish is on her side for landing some epic fish…☘️

We’ve had Stewie bring in his beauty of a Sportsman a couple of times now, and we thought it was about time we gave her a spot on the grid!

Stewie’s vision was to give her a few upgrades to make things as easy as possible for those extended trips away.

To keep it short and sweet we went with:
* Installation of a Victron Energy battery management system, 200ah House Battery Package and can bus integration for the 36v lithium
* Relocation of autopilot controls
* Remediation of console wiring and equipment layout in the console
* Running new power for fridge to be located under the seat
* Installation of step-down power and outlet from the 36v lithium and an extra outlet from the house lithium to run the fridge from either supply
* Installation of Active Target 2 and a HDS Live Pro 16 on the bow
* Installation of an additional HDS Live Pro 10 on the console
* Installation of a Minn Kota plug & receptacle, replacing the factory setup that’s prone to corrosion
* Integration of the Yamaha outboard with the Lowrance MFD’s, enabling Yamaha features

These additions will give Stewie the option to unplug for a few days and enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of his busy life, without having to worry about running out of power or anything breaking down!

We are absolutely blown away. Tonight we were awarded the BLA 2026 Best Performing Dealer for Service. We were up there with some big names in industry and we are totally humbled to have taken out this national award.
Thank you to all of the team and especially to our rep, Shane. You guys are absolute legends to deal with and we are so grateful for all that you do to support us❤️

The WMB workshop will be closed for the week of Monday 20th - Friday 24th July as we will be interstate for the 2026 BLA Trade Show. We can’t wait to snag some absolute bargains, check out marine tech goodies and talk all things boats!!
We will be back on deck from Monday 27th July.

It’s been a chaotic first half of the year for the WMB Team, with the legends at Barra or Blue Darwin Fishing Charters bringing their fleet through for some well-deserved TLC – including the newest member of the family, their Pioneer 220 Bay Sport “Stella-Rose”! Linc and the team are always on point with ensuring their boats are fitted out to provide their clients with the best possible experiences on the water, and this beauty is no exception! So, what went into getting this big girl NT charter ready?

We replaced the existing failed lithium system with an Amptron Blue Edge 100AH battery, DC-DC charger and a can bus monitoring solution from Victron Energy to tie the system together. That way the BMS of the battery can control how much charge it requires and will stop the charger once it is full. This also ensures the skipper has full oversight on what is happening with the lithium system on board when it is charging and discharging.

On the bow is a new 72” Minn Kota Terrova Quest trolling motor. These bad boys have proven themselves in the commercial sector, especially in our harsh Top End conditions.

Full Active Target 2 setup and a cheeky Simrad EVO-3S at the bow, complimented by quality live sonar hardware from the team at Transducer Poles Australia

And something a little different, a JBL Rallybar soundbar in place of a traditional head unit and speaker setup – these beauties not only look good, they also pump out some impressive decibels!

Now it’s all up to the charter wizards to make sure they get the punters onto those cheeky fish!!

Another crazy week has come to an end for the WMB Team and we are ready for a few knock-off lemonades! In amongst the usual marine electronics chaos, live sonar was the hot item of the week with two full AT2 installs rolling out of the workshop including this one for the Hughes family in their 590 Top Ender, aka Joker.

As always, hardware is courtesy of the legends at Transducer Poles Australia who continue to deliver the high-quality goods every time. To ensure the sounder ports and cables are protected from the elements, we only use the best in the business - ProTek Caps from Barji Marine 🤩

The sun has officially set on another financial year for Team WMB. And what a year it was! Our biggest year of trading yet, and we finished it off with an absolutely epic grind of working 7 days straight to pull off a full re-fit in time for the Barra Classic. Add to that the craziness that is EOFY and it’s safe to say the workshop has been absolute chaos for the past two weeks. Our apologies to anyone who has contacted us and hasn’t had a response, the Boss Lady has a pile of emails to get to tomorrow! But until then, it’s beer o’clock!🍻

We will be closed from Thursday 21st May until Tuesday 9th June as we head down to the Gold Coast for our annual trip to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and also take some time out for a special family celebration.
While we would love to keep the wheels turning during our time away, we are pretty sure our caretakers don't know the difference between a bow and a stern, and probably also think a Minn Kota is an exotic bird native to the NT... 😬
We are taking this opportunity for some much-needed time out, so phone calls, emails and messages won't be answered while we are away. We will follow up any queries when we return.
