New toy from and it earned its keep today 💧

Every waste point has to have a leak control fl**ge installed and recessed at the lowest point of the substrate — that’s code, that’s Australian Standards, no shortcuts.

Used to be 20-25 mins on the grinder per hole. Messy, slow, dusty as. This Innovative Tools FC Sheeting Puddle Fl**ge Recess tool? 3 minutes a hole. Clean recess, perfect every time.

Little tools, big difference, a couple more jobs it’s paid for itself!

One from the archive and still one of my favourites.

This bathroom was all about keeping things clean, warm and practical without overcomplicating it. Neutral tones, floating vanity, freestanding bath and an open shower layout that just works.

We spend a lot of time thinking through the little details on projects like this — tile layout, spacing, functionality and making sure it not only looks good on handover day, but still feels timeless years later.

We’ve stripped this one right back and started rebuilding it properly from the ground up. New framing is in, layout changes are taking shape and everything is being set up ready for rough-in.

A lot of people only see the finished tiles and fixtures — but this stage is what really makes the difference in how a renovation performs long term.

Functional. Practical. Built right.

New project underway - Darlow 👊🏼

This one’s going to be a big transformation — extending the bathroom into part of the lounge room to create a much more functional and spacious layout.

The new space will include:
• Freestanding bath
• Double vanity
• Full height tiling throughout
• Toilet refresh
• Updated layout with a much better flow and feel

Sometimes it’s the small tools that make a big difference on site 👌🏼

Using the clamps on this cladding install has made setting, holding and lining boards up quicker, cleaner and far more consistent. Especially when you’re installing by yourself.

Simple gear, but a bloody handy addition to the setup 🔨

One of the most important parts of a quality renovation isn’t what you see finished — it’s what’s happening behind the finished product.

On this project we’re installing a ventilated cavity batten system over Pro Clima Extasana before the new cladding goes on.

Why? Because modern building science is all about managing moisture, air movement and thermal performance correctly — especially in Australian conditions.

The Extasana wrap acts as a weather resistant yet vapour permeable membrane. In simple terms:
• It helps stop wind driven rain and drafts getting into the wall system
• Still allows trapped moisture vapour inside the wall cavity to escape
• Reduces the risk of condensation, mould and long term moisture damage

The cavity battens then create an air gap between the wrap and cladding. This gap allows:
✔ Drainage of any incidental moisture
✔ Ventilation and drying behind the cladding
✔ Improved longevity of the cladding system
✔ Better overall wall performance

A lot of older homes were built without proper moisture management systems, insulation or ventilation cavities. As building products and energy efficiency standards improve, these details matter more than ever.

It’s not just about making a home look good — it’s about building systems that perform properly for years to come.

The extra 1% in these hidden details is what makes the difference. 🤙🏻

Next stage commencing today for one of our lovely returning clients.

We’re giving this home a facelift that will really uplift the street appeal. The existing asbestos cladding, which has definitely seen better days, is being removed before we install new insulation and wrap the walls with Pro Clima Extasana. From there, we’ll be battening out the walls ready for the installation of James Hardie Linea cladding boards.

We’ll also be installing new windows and framing out the architraves to a 90 x 42 profile. 👌🏼
