After years of attending post-storm inspections and hot water makesafes, we’ve seen how often solar hot water systems are overlooked.

Because they sit on the roof, they are usually among the first assets exposed to wind, impact, and movement.

What we often find is damage that isn’t immediately obvious.

• Panels and collectors may shift or crack after impact.
• Pipework and fittings can loosen due to movement.
• Connections may be compromised, even if the system appears operational.

Early checks help prevent leaks, loss of efficiency, and further damage to the property.

AIRCON FAULTS OFTEN DEVELOP BEFORE PERFORMANCE DROPS

After years of inspecting air conditioning systems, we’ve learned most faults develop quietly.

• Early issues are often hidden.
• Efficiency and safety can decline over time.
• Proactive checks help prevent breakdowns.

Routine assessment supports long-term performance and system reliability.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS CAN REMAIN LIVE DESPITE UNDERLYING FAULTS

From years of attending electrical makesafes, one thing remains consistent.

Power does not always shut off when damage occurs.
• Internal faults are not always visible.
• Live systems increase safety risk.
• Early assessment reduces exposure and delays.

Electrical safety checks are critical before any further works proceed.

TANK ISSUES CAN AFFECT BOTH WATER QUALITY AND SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

After years of inspecting water systems, we’ve seen how often tank issues are underestimated.

Many faults start small and develop over time, affecting more than just performance.

• Tank damage can impact water quality and filtration.
• Pressure and efficiency issues often develop gradually.
• Delayed attention can increase safety and system risks.

Regular assessment helps ensure water systems remain safe and reliable.

EARLY LEAK DETECTION HELPS PREVENT SECONDARY DAMAGE

After years of us attending leak detection jobs, one thing is clear.
The longer a leak goes unnoticed, the more damage it causes.
People often focus on visible signs like pooling water or surface damage.

What’s often missed is what’s happening behind walls and beneath floors.

• Leaks do not stop on their own.
• Prolonged moisture can lead to mould and structural issues.
• Early detection helps limit secondary damage and claim complications.

Early assessment plays a critical role in protecting both the property and the outcome.

📍 Capalaba | New Year, Same Solar Safety Standards

As the new year begins, storm and hail damage from recent weather events continue to surface across Capalaba.

Our team attended a property where hail damage had affected the solar PV system. While the panels appeared intact at first glance, further inspection identified internal damage that required the system to be made safe.

To support insurers and ensure the site remained safe, our team completed a solar makesafe and safely disconnected the hail-damaged panels.

We then carried out a thermal imaging inspection and provided a specialist solar report and replacement quote to assist insurers with assessment and next steps.

LiVE Services Group supports insurers with compliant solar makesafe inspections, clear reporting, and efficient handovers.

📍 Plainland | Temporary Hot Water System Installed Supporting Insurers

We attended a property in Plainland to proceed with the installation of a temporary hot water system.

Temporary hot water systems help maintain basic services for occupants while permanent repairs or replacements are being assessed.

Our team completed the installation to ensure the property remained functional and safe, while supporting insurers with continuity during the assessment process.

LiVE Services Group supports insurers with compliant temporary solutions, clear handovers, and reliable trade support when urgent services are required.

📍Live at Bardon | Supporting Insurers With Electrical AC Assessments

We attended a Bardon property after concerns were raised about an air conditioning system that was no longer operating.

The issue was first noticed by the insured, with further confirmation provided shortly after, prompting the need for an electrical assessment to determine the cause and extent of the fault.

To support insurers with accurate claim assessment, our team arranged site attendance and completed an Electrical Specialist Report focused on the AC system.

Clear inspection findings and reporting help insurers understand the issue, assess next steps, and progress the claim without unnecessary delays.

LiVE Services Group supports insurers with compliant electrical inspections, specialist reporting, and reliable on-site assessments.

Storms hit first is often what sits on the roof.

After years of we attending post-storm electrical and solar makesafes, this is something we see time and time again.

Roof-mounted assets take the brunt of wind, rain, debris, and impact before anything else.

What’s often missed is what happens after.

• Solar systems are highly exposed.
- Panels, mounting systems, and cabling are directly impacted by environmental stress during storms.

• Damage is not always obvious.
- Cracks, water ingress, or compromised connections may not be visible from the ground.

• Electrical risk can remain even after the storm passes.
-Affected solar assets may still be energised, creating safety risks and potential claim complications.

This is why, after every severe weather event, our focus is on early assessment, electrical safety, and clear documentation before any further works proceed.
