Milleen Group is proud to announce our appointment as the primary EPC contractor for the WOMBATTERY project.

Scope includes:
• Bulk earthworks and site establishment
• Structural delivery of the wombat enclosure (Class W structure)
• Integration of high-performance “brown energy” storage systems
• Specialist ventilation for high-density wombat traffic

Our team is currently working through early contractor involvement (ECI) with CSIRO to address key constructability challenges, including:
• Load distribution across irregular marsupial geometry
• Durability requirements for claw-resistant cladding
• Managing peak demand during viral wombat events

This project represents a significant step forward in renewable innovation and reinforces Milleen Group’s capability in delivering complex, technically unique infrastructure.

Strong progress today at Brandy Hill BESS ⚡

The battery units were placed on site, marking another big step forward for the project.

While battery installation was the responsibility of others, the work completed so far by our team is already showing its value. We’ve had great feedback from the client on the quality of our foundations and civils — clean, accurate and built to support the next stages of the build.

There’s still plenty to do, but the standard on site is exactly where it needs to be.

Eraring TX Bund Pour – Precision in Action

Another milestone achieved at Eraring this week as our team completed the Transformer Bund pour — a critical component in the substation’s containment and protection system.

This pour demanded precision and planning, with reinforcement density, fall accuracy, and cast-in positioning leaving no room for error.
Working within a live HV environment, the team coordinated plant, personnel, and placement sequencing with engineering discipline and a focus on safety and quality — the Milleen way.

This project highlights Milleen’s specialist expertise in HV electrical infrastructure, where engineering-led ex*****on and disciplined delivery ensure outcomes that stand the test of time.

Finals Day with Tooheys Newcastle Rugby League was a great chance for Milleen to step off the worksite and into the community. 🏉

From our branded plant and equipment on display to being part of the Finals atmosphere, it was a proud moment to show who we are — not just as builders of infrastructure, but as builders of connections.
