DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION OFFICES | COMMENCED

Works are officially underway on our Department of Education offices project in Leongatha under Site Manager Daniel Jones.

The project began with demolition and the safe removal of asbestos. Site mark-out has also been completed, and earthworks have commenced. All waste is being carefully sorted into recycling piles to meet the project’s aggressive 5-Star Green Star rating.

As part of the demo, the existing rafters were originally intended to remain in use. However, due to their brittle condition, they will instead be repurposed as blocking within the roof structure, helping to minimise waste.

We look forward to working with everyone involved on this project, and will keep you up to date as we progress!

Our construction staff recently took part in Topcon 3-Point Positioning System training, building our capability to work with greater accuracy and efficiency across our projects.

The technology works much like a laser level, but in three dimensions and directly from our digital plans. This allows our team to accurately locate coordinates across a site while reducing the need for traditional manual measurements using lasers, tapes and levels.

Following the training, the system is now being deployed across our sites as required, helping our teams work smarter, more efficiently and with greater precision!

ST MARY'S PS BAIRNSDALE | COMMENCED

We’re thrilled to have recently been awarded the St Mary’s Primary School Bairnsdale project for the Diocese of Sale.

The project will involve the refurbishment of existing classrooms, along with the construction of a new STEM and Library building. Below is one of the beautiful plans by the architects at Cley Studio.

A fortnight ago, we got together for our Autumn Function!

Our afternoon included a hosted golf simulation with a little friendly competition or two, some line dancing and plenty of team bonding.

The winners of our golf competitions — Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin — took home $50 each, while Sam scored a hole-in-one and took home $500.

We wrapped up the night with a catered dinner and watched Freo dominate the Dogs.

A great afternoon and evening spent together outside of the job site!

Congratulations on 5 years with Kubale Constructions to Pacey Unmack!

Five (and a half) years ago, Pacey Unmack joined Kubale Constructions as an apprentice carpenter. Fast forward to today, and he's now a qualified carpenter and Leading Hand, having grown into a valued member of our team.

This post is a couple of months overdue, but we couldn't let the milestone pass without acknowledging his dedication and hard work.

A day in the life of a Contracts Administrator!

No two days are ever the same.

One minute you're reviewing contracts and preparing EOTs, RFIs and NODs. The next, you're placing large orders for subcontractors and materials, liaising with clients, or assisting the Project Manager to keep the project moving forward.

Behind the scenes, Contracts Administrators are constantly managing budgets, processing variations, coordinating procurement, tracking project documentation, and solving problems before they become bigger issues.

It's a role that demands organization, communication and attention to detail!
