☀️ El Niño is active — and summer is on the way.
The Bureau of Meteorology has confirmed that a strong El Niño is firmly established and continuing to intensify.
For Sydney and eastern Australia, El Niño can increase the likelihood of hotter and drier conditions, particularly through spring and into the warmer months.
That doesn’t mean every day will be extreme, but it does mean your air conditioner may be working much harder once the heat arrives.
A system that seems fine on a mild day can struggle when temperatures climb and it has to run continuously for hours.
Before summer, it’s worth checking for issues such as:
• Restricted airflow
• Dirty filters or coils
• Weak electrical components
• Drainage problems
• Reduced cooling performance
• Unusual noises or smells
Getting your system checked early gives you a better chance of fixing small issues before they turn into a breakdown during the first major heatwave.
