Two days, 11 riders and over 200 kilometres. Team Schlammertime proudly completed the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for the Perkins.

The weather was far kinder this year as the team rolled out from the start line. An incredible $9 million was raised for the life-saving research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research . Thank you to the MACA Cancer 200 organisers and the volunteers who cheered the riders on every step of the way.

Special thanks to the Schlammertime support crew Donna Rankine and Donna Woods, who did a fantastic job keeping the riders safe, and kept spirits and electrolyte levels high from start to finish.

It was great to be part of Waroona Troutfest over the weekend, supporting a fantastic local event that brings the community together while helping put trout back into Drakesbrook Weir.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work, Schlam was proud to sponsor the event’s major prize (a kayak) and get involved on the day with our own stall and scavenger hunt activity.

The scavenger hunt gave local kids the chance to explore the event, learn more about the environment and discover the local businesses and organisations helping make Troutfest happen.

Waroona Troutfest is a great example of community, conservation and education coming together, and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting it.

A big thank you to the Shire of Waroona for putting on such a great event for the whole community. We look forward to supporting Troutfest again next year!

Just two weeks until the MACA Cancer 200 , and Team Schlammertime's 15 riders are ready to roll.

Before they do, we'd like to take a moment to thank the community behind them.

To support our riders, Elly Munday and the team pitched in to run two BBQs, a quiz night and a raffle, with the net proceeds going to the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research after event costs.

The riders got stuck in too. Our Product Lifecycle Support Manager Luke Martin and PLS Specialist Ken Morris barbecued up a storm, and Team Captain and Global Technical Director Brendan Waterman showed the sales team how it's done, selling at least half the raffle tickets himself. At the quiz night, Brad Maff and Ian Cornfoot's creatively named Quiz Team 1 crushed the competition.

Thank you to Elly, to everyone who helped run the events, and to everyone who came along, bought a ticket or took on the quiz. Over the years, the Schlam community has shown up time and again to support Team Schlammertime, helping the team raise more than $300,000 for cancer research since our first ride in 2022.

The riders set off on 17 and 18 October, and we'll be cheering them on every kilometre.

The team at our Muswellbrook facility have been putting ingenuity to work, transforming an old 40ft shipping container that was taking up valuable space into something genuinely useful.

By cutting out one side, the container has become a dedicated gas storage area, while the rear wall now doubles as a laydown space for inwards and outwards goods. Smart repurposing, better functionality, and a much tidier site, all from a container that would otherwise have gone to waste.

This is what Schlam ingenuity looks like on the ground: our people spotting an opportunity and just getting it done. Great work, John Bearcroft and the whole Muswellbrook team.

Carry back is one problem, with many causes.

One Australian mining client asked Schlam to help mitigate carry back on their haul truck fleet, a challenge costing them millions in lost production.

So we sent an engineer on site for two weeks to find out why.

It wasn't one cause but many.

Fixing it took more than one change.

Bengalla Community Open Day was a great opportunity for Schlam to connect with the local Muswellbrook community.

With our manufacturing facility based locally, we were proud to support an event that brings families together and gives people a closer look at mining in the region.

It was also a chance to showcase what we do, from our Hercules model at the showground to seeing the real thing in action at the mine and meeting the people behind Schlam.

Our basketball hoop was a hit with the kids too!

A big shout out to Grant Savell for running our booth on the day, and thanks to the Bengalla team for putting together such a great community event.
