A special day is coming up this Sunday in what will be a bittersweet occasion, but a great opportunity to get as many people together to remember the life of my late brother in law and someone who touched so many.

Glenn Day put together by the legends and from will feature a walk from Station Pier Port Melbourne all the way to Acland St St.Kilda and back. A total of 10kms. It will kick off by meeting at 9:30am Sunday at Station Pier for a 10am departure to commemorate the life of Glenn and to raise some much needed funds for the GOFundMe page attached.

Always nice heading back regional and getting out of the big smoke for a day checking out some potential sites.

The industry has faced some challenging times like many others over the last couple of years, with potentially the worst to come.

Using this time to broaden my knowledge base, have a break from building which has been refreshing, build contacts throughout the state and take a further interest in many forms of property development and excited about the journey ahead.

Many deals don’t stack up right now,but that’s not to say they’re all 💩.
It’s more so about getting creative and now looking at integrating these strategies into building operations as an added service from here on in.

As a builder - we’re highly skilled at pulling the right teams together to execute any job to an exceptional standard.
Property development is just this on a bigger scale and the dream will be designing our own premium infill developments in the coming years through our proud partner Maürer Projects.

We’ve got most of the contacts already so why not take advantage of this skill set I say.

Only when it comes to water harvesting as apart from that it’s a fkn nightmare for builders more often than not if not dealt with accordingly…but that’s a thought for another day.

It’s even better knowing that client’s tanks both far and wide will also be benefitting from systems we’ve installed as standard on all of our projects.

Typically if budgets & site constraints are favorable - bigger is always better and I take this view when factoring in Solar as I always prefer to work to well above the minimum requirements in everything we produce.

Remember there’s always a solution no matter what specific site constraints you’re dealing with as it’s all been done before so speak with your builder, architect,plumber or tank manufacturer depending on what stage your at.

If you’re close to commencing works,fine tune the details with your builder only as he or she will liaise with the above parties on your behalf.

One of the photos you’ll see, it was pretty tight down this side way. You could get through, but the clients weren’t fussed about access and they loved the look of these poly slim lines and you did have access from both ends so it worked in this case.

You can go narrower in width however keep in mind this will limit your capacity as there are tanks less than 300mm in width, but generally these don’t exceed 1000L so you’ll have more connections,more pads to pour,may not work in between windows, interfere with other downpipes and so on.

Colorbond Steel, Poly and then less frequently Fiberglass & Concrete are your common material varieties.

You can jazz up any variety and if the only options are to be in full view there’s some great products out there for creating green walls to conceal.

Take some interest in this step in your home design as a great charged system will handle much of your families water use and your garden will love you for it as well.

These extremes will be the new norm moving forward, so equip your home as best you can.

However the pièce de résistance was the legends that assisted in seamlessly piecing it all together which is what Passive Edge Homes does best.
