The circular economy is increasingly integrated into how infrastructure is designed, delivered and operated. Waste is no longer an unavoidable by‑product, it’s a resource, to be kept in productive use for as long as possible.

As an infrastructure services provider, Ventia’s contribution to the circular economy means partnering with our customers to enable technologies to succeed across the asset lifecycle.

National Reconciliation Week gives us the opportunity to work in partnership with the traditional custodians of the land to create meaningful social, economic and employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Across the Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC), this commitment to working alongside Indigenous communities to create lasting, positive impact is actively being brought to life. In partnership with the Clontarf Foundation – a not-for-profit organisation that supports employment for young Indigenous men – the DMC team at Wadsworth Barracks proudly hosted high school students on a guided tour of Defence facilities, offering valuable insight into the diverse career opportunities within Defence.

At Bandiana, the DMC team has also strengthened its connection with the local community through the engagement of a new Indigenous supplier, Bunji Hire. The partnership supported the acquisition of six vehicles to meet ongoing maintenance requirements, with the vehicles personally delivered by Dean Rioli, director and owner of Bunji Hire.

Together, these initiatives reflect a broader company-wide commitment to increasing Indigenous representation and creating meaningful, sustained employment outcomes.
