Project Bucephalus Robotics - FLL and FRC

Project Bucephalus Robotics - FLL and FRC An Australian robotics group that teaches STEM and runs an FLL team and FRC team 5985 The team is currently competing in the "Super-Powered" season.

Project Bucephalus Robotics is a Wollongong-based group named after the warhorse of Alexander the Great. Responsible for the creation and mentoring of FLL teams around the world, Project Bucephalus has many years of experience running robotics activities for children in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, and Sydney areas. The Project Bucephalus FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) team is made up from home-schooled

children aged 9-16. They have been dubbed the Australian FLL National Champions on multiple occasions and regularly represent Australian at the International level. The Project Bucephalus FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) team was announced in 2015, and has met with fantastic results! FRC Team #5985 is competing in the 2023 "Charged Up" season.

Day 11 Houston Trip 2026.

Time to rest, pack and celebrate! After Championships the team slept in and were treated to brunch by mentor Tenille.

The team then spent the afternoon pulling the robot apart and packing it into suitcases.

The day was finished off with the annual tradition of team dinner at the cheesecake factory!

Day 10 Houston Trip 2026 (Day 4 Champs)

The last day of the World Championships was a time for the team to relax, make friends, trade shirts, dance and watch some amazing robots on the field. The highlight was welcoming the new Hall of Fame team - 6352 LAUNCH TEAM.

Day 9 Houston Trip 2026 (Day 3 Champs)

The fun continued with another set of judges, manning the Hall of Fame Booth, lots of teams interested in awards and 5 qualification matches. Over the last two days we had been trouble shooting several issues with the robot's performance. By our final match we had everything sorted and had a fantastic win.

The team finished qualification matches ranked 53, with the robot re-inspected ready for alliance selection tomorrow.

Day 8 Houston Trip 2026 (Day 2 Champs)

The team was incredibly busy, playing in 5 qualification matches, talking to 2 sets of judges, severing on the Hall of Fame booth in the Innovation Fair and helping 5 teams with Impact and a radio interview! The team finished the day in rank 65.

Then to top it all off the some of team attend the VIP dinner to represent the Hall of Fame booth.

Day 4, 5 and 6 Houston Trip 2026.

Day 4 was a fun day out for the team as we visited . The team had a great time cooling off on the water slides.

Day 5 was the traditional visit to NASA, only this time the team was lucky enough to get tour of Mission Control.

Day 6 is the last day before the competition begins. The drive team and pit crew had another go at workshop, while the rest of the team helped get the Hall of Fame both set up. The night finished with a Hall of Fame pizza party and a time to socialise.
